Protesters held signs and chanted slogans demanding that Takaichi withdraw her statements, with some even calling for her impeachment.

If you’re able to draw crowds like this consistently for a while, you can build a core of devoted activists who can then lead an even bigger crowd into the streets in the future.

Absolutely. When I was there last summer there was 1 guy at that crazy intersection in Shibuya holding up a Free Palestine sign and shouting at all the people, all by himself. I went over and shook his hand but for the most part people just ignored him. So hundreds of people is better than 1 for sure.
