If you’re able to draw crowds like this consistently for a while, you can build a core of devoted activists who can then lead an even bigger crowd into the streets in the future.

Absolutely. When I was there last summer there was 1 guy at that crazy intersection in Shibuya holding up a Free Palestine sign and shouting at all the people, all by himself. I went over and shook his hand but for the most part people just ignored him. So hundreds of people is better than 1 for sure.

On the contrary, hundreds is a lot of people even for this city and it could grow if the agitation continues.

The fact that the organizer were able to reach this number shows that there is potential that shouldn't be belittled.

I'm not trying to belittle it. What I say isn't changing anything. I'm just pointing out in a city that size it is a miniscule turn-out but that doesn't mean it isn't a good start.
