I know carnists don't like it when vegans draw comparisons between the meat industry and the Holocaust, but literally tattooing numbers onto their victims feels like it's practically daring us to.

I once saw a good comment here on this topic: the Holocaust was the practices of animal agriculture applied to people.

I remember someone pointing out that carnists get offended if you say livestock animals are treated like Holocaust victims, but nobody bats an eye if you say that Holocaust victims were treated like livestock.

because the word order works like this. "[situation ]is so bad, [superior] is treated like [inferior]!" that's just what that sentence means

Even outside of Holocaust comparisons, there are phrases such as ”treated like cattle” that everyone thinks are totally normal thinking-about-it
