They just don't know what they're talking about. Mistook it for AC, where one usually wants the switch on the phase side.

You sent me down a rabbit hole wondering if AC batteries are a thing, and apparently they are! I'm still not sure if any of the sources I found are scams, but they seem to be physically plausible. Interesting!

Do yourself a favor and stop arguing. Positive and negative is completely different from live and neutral. You're confusing a floating circuit with mains AC.

I'm not arguing. You're just wrong. Both AC and DC have high side switches for safety.
