I literally do not know the deets. Is Robert Beltran not Native American?

The consultant they had for the show pretended to be from a native American tribe but was just a white dude grifter. Others probably have more details but that's all I can recall about it right now. I don't believe Robert Beltran has native American ancestry, which is probably why they decided to hire someone with that experience to consult the writers and actors. If I recall correctly, Beltran is Mexican.

I watched a lot of Voyager and the native thing always felt a bit unnatural and sus, but I couldn't put my finger on it, and I was too lazy to Google. Thanks for this post.
