You are not wrong, but I also want to say that the antivax movement started in the UK with Andrew Wakefield. Then US made it way more widespread.

I hate that I didn't immediately spot this as satire. It wasn't until I reread it and digested "mild cases of death" that I realized it wasn't some antivax nonsense. ☹️
