It’s not even hypocrisy in the truest sense, it’s more the unspoken rule baked into the cultural conservative system that the restrictive, repressive culture practices and limitations are for the plebs. Like everything else, it’s about hierarchies for them, so debauchery is only something you earn if you’re high enough on the org chart.

good analysis, part of why calling out hypocrisy doesn't work because it just enforces the subtextual hierarchy in their minds
