There were two “Reigns of Terror,” if we would but remember it and consider it; the one wrought murder in hot passion, the other in heartless cold blood; the one lasted mere months, the other had lasted a thousand years; the one inflicted death upon ten thousand persons, the other upon a hundred millions; but our shudders are all for the “horrors” of the minor Terror, the momentary Terror, so to speak; whereas, what is the horror of swift death by the axe, compared with lifelong death from hunger, cold, insult, cruelty, and heart-break? What is swift death by lightning compared with death by slow fire at the stake? A city cemetery could contain the coffins filled by that brief Terror which we have all been so diligently taught to shiver at and mourn over; but all France could hardly contain the coffins filled by that older and real Terror—that unspeakably bitter and awful Terror which none of us has been taught to see in its vastness or pity as it deserves.

Resources For Understanding The War
Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.
Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.
Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.
Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.
On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent and very good journalist reporting in the warzone on the separatists' side.
Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.
Telegram Channels
Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.
Pro-Russian
https://t.me/aleksandr_skif ~ DPR's former Defense Minister and Colonel in the DPR's forces. Russian language.
https://t.me/Slavyangrad ~ A few different pro-Russian people gather frequent content for this channel (~100 posts per day), some socialist, but all socially reactionary. If you can only tolerate using one Russian telegram channel, I would recommend this one.
https://t.me/s/levigodman ~ Does daily update posts.
https://t.me/patricklancasternewstoday ~ Patrick Lancaster's telegram channel.
https://t.me/gonzowarr ~ A big Russian commentator.
https://t.me/rybar ~ One of, if not the, biggest Russian telegram channels focussing on the war out there. Actually quite balanced, maybe even pessimistic about Russia. Produces interesting and useful maps.
https://t.me/epoddubny ~ Russian language.
https://t.me/boris_rozhin ~ Russian language.
https://t.me/mod_russia_en ~ Russian Ministry of Defense. Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a 'propaganda tax', if you don't believe them. Does not cover everything, for obvious reasons, and virtually never details Russian losses.
https://t.me/UkraineHumanRightsAbuses ~ Pro-Russian, documents abuses that Ukraine commits.
Pro-Ukraine
Almost every Western media outlet.
https://discord.gg/projectowl ~ Pro-Ukrainian OSINT Discord.
https://t.me/ice_inii ~ Alleged Ukrainian account with a rather cynical take on the entire thing.
Last week's discussion post.

I was reading an article on an argentinian news site "Infobae" (It's dogshit) about the almost done purchase of almost three dozen F-16 jets from Denmark (who will replace their F-16s with F-35s lmfao). The article is titled "Why Argentina should buy the F-16s instead of accepting the offer from the chinese regime", the reasons vary: It is not explicitly said in the article but mainly one of the first reasons is that we should stick together with the US, that we don't fully comprehend the "major non-member NATO ally" status we've been given (which is almost completely useless btw) and this is important, somehow. China is bad because gommunist regime and their JF-17 fighters are "unproven" (You know, contrary to old F-16s which have been used extensively by the danes for years now), but most importantly: The F-16 is the aircraft used by Israel to bomb Hamas.
Literally, that is listed as one of the reasons: it is used to bomb Hamas!!! Truly a
moment. Of course, anyone with a bit of understanding of the situation will spin it around and say "This aircraft is used to genocide palestinians" because, well, just look at Gaza rn.
Here's the article if you want to auto-translate it, or if you are practicing your spanish, or if you just want to suffer direct brain damage.
Also, in a bit of geopolitical analysis, this F-16s to Argentina topic has been cooking for a while now. Of course, the US is not a benevolent force and they're not offering F-16s to us because they know our airforce lacks any kind of interceptor (our last remaining Mirage IIIs were retired in like 2014), they're doing it because they fear we might "fall into the chinese arms export market". Yet another "front" in this "cold" war. On the other hand, Britain has historically been able to block pretty much all important arms sales to Argentina. If Argentina wants to buy a certain aircraft, say a Gripen from Sweden, and that aircraft contains even a single british-made component, then Britain is fully allowed to block the transfer. This is why Argentina went looking to the Russian, Indian, South Korean and Chinese arms export markets, without much success. But here we can see the vassal relationship between the US and the UK in full display, the UK will most likely protest a purchase like this because "it endangers the safety of the Falklands", but this time around the US has told them to shut the fuck up, stay fucking put and be a good dog. So far they haven't protested, because you know who calls the shots in the west. This reminds me of a Hexbear comrade who was discussing with a liberal some time ago about this very specific relationship, how the UK is a mere vassal to the US these days. Well, this thing kinda proves it (among other examples, of course).
Isn't the JF-17 literally less than half the cost to buy (and even less to operate) than the F-16 and was designed with Pakistan?
This is truly some ok/not ok arms supplier shit.
Yeah but the IMF won't "renegotiate the debt" if they don't buy the F-16.
It's a shame the Chinese aren't willing to start offering to refinance IMF loans for third world countries. I wonder if the Saudis would consider it.
Hasn't Argentina been using debt swaps with China to pay off IMF debt?
IMF debt just sounds like a really bad idea in general tbh
Oh, I missed that. It seems like it's a recent development.
