the tradition of western media not being able to find any Ukrainian soldiers without nazi paraphernalia continues
At this point one is beginning to wonder whether they are just that sloppy with their photos or they are doing it on purpose. Comical levels of evil
There is also the option that they just can't find anyone without those markings as well
"We got the guy with nazi tattoos or the girl with SS patches. Which one do you want to use for your photo op?"
"Uh...got anything else?"
"Well, this guy over here has no questionable patches at all and doesn't actually have any tattoos!"
"Perfect! But uh...why is he doing a nazi salute..."

It's also fitting since ravenwing is part of one of the worst marine chapters out there, known for massacring whole planets for nonsensical paranoic reasons, and ironic since they are the fast attack formation, not known for months-long bashing heads against against prepared enemy lines.
-Spend months fighting over the same 6 inches of ground
-Army is replenished by forced conscription
-Constantly losing bodies in forced charges on hardened positions because theres a guy with a gun in your back
Wear space marine patches, are clearly guardsmen
