Could you class refined metals as natural ingredients, asking for a friend

[-] meco03211@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Pretty sure iron deficiency is treated with rust pills. Literally just powdered rust. And as we all know rust is just the "refined" product of iron with oxygen. That's precedence if I ever saw it.

No, iron supplements are not rust pills.

Ferrous salts used as supplements by mouth include ferrous fumarate, ferrous gluconate, ferrous succinate, and ferrous sulfate.[3] Injectable forms include iron dextran and iron sucrose.

So not rust but other forms of refined iron?

[-] Eheran@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

If you want to call things like iron sulfate "refined iron" then you can call anything almost anything. Table salt? Altered chlorine. Refined chlorine. No no, even better: modified chemical warfare agent.

Ever inhale chlorine gas? Deadly! Ever tossed sodium in water? Explosive! Putting the two together could absolutely be modified chemical warfare agent. We should add it to the ban list right under dihydrogen monoxide.

Well if you want to be anal about it, iron and steel are refined rust
