MODERATORS
A "popularity contest" but no formal process or democracy to it; "direct democracy" is not always applicable in most cases, imho. It's not really democratic, I think, and but instead confuses people and leads to wreckers.
Precisely. No process and, therefore, you don't get to the truth of the matter in regard to which is the best game or even the most popular.
I guess it just seems very... libertarian to me, you know? And I think Gabe Newell is basically a product of that sort of politics, from what I know of him. But I could be wrong.
Steam or Valve doesn't seem to operate like most companies I am familiar with but I am not sure I like it...
