There is a huge grey area here, for both cases:

  • What about pedophiles that don't act on it, and want to seek help?
  • What about indoctrination, for both sides? Some people grow up with nazis, or take the views of their community. The same goes for people that go through extreme grooming.
  • What is the point of prison if you do not believe in reform? In a place where people that touch kids or harm women are basically "stab on sight", what hope is there of reform?

I think both need extensive research, and need to be treated for what they are - extreme mental illnesses. Those that act on their delusions should be punished by the law, but those that seek change should be rehabilitated where possible.

And I don't disagree with that, what I think should be done is those who wish to change that part of themselves or truly question if what they support is wrong should seek help and be rehabilitated. But as for those who show no mercy or guilt in any capacity should be killed and/or locked away forever. What should be done is separation of reform and jail because we are treating jail as both a place you will never escape and a place where if you improve you can leave.
