So "gooning" has a very different meaning in my country. Over here you can get cheap cooking wine in big bags (I think it's called boxed wine in other places), they're called goon bags over here. So someone who is "gooning" is someone who is getting drunk off of boxed wine.
This meme also fits that perfectly so I was very confused for a moment.
