it would make things worse for them. if netanyahu died tonight, the bombing would not stop. the entire israeli political system is oriented towards ethnic cleansing. bibi provides a convenient excuse for american liberals to continue to support Israel, just not the actions of its current government.
They've done it in the past. But usually that resulted in the complete dissolution of their puppet state, and Israel is intended as a perpetual project so they'll probably hold out longer.
