The first glance at the baby elephant in the dress/blanket made me remember the news story about the village (Malaysia?) that kept a shaved baboon as the town prostitute, and now I'm starting to think this whole "internet" thing may be a bad idea.

I wish it was a joke.. I'd look it up, but that's going to be a bad impact on my Google algorithm.

The Internet here isn't the problem, the people in that village are the problem. They would be doing that regardless of if the Internet knew about it, if anything it's good we now know about these things. Someone might actually do something about it now.
