As a non-binary person that grew up in an insanely devout Catholic family from Trinidad and Tobago, I don't think that's possible for me, even with a visit to Poland.
100% this, growing up around it will make you loathe it. For every 3 cool liberation theologians there's like 500 reactionary clergy.

South Africa has some of the worst evangelicals though, like the pastor who sprayed his followers with Doom insecticide to "cure HIV and cancer", and was found guilty of assault.
