If you are citing a Twitter post as news, please include the Xcancel.com (or another Nitter instance) or at least strip out identifier information from the twitter link. There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance, such as Libredirect or archive them as you would any other reactionary source.

Archive sites: We highly encourage use of non-paywalled archive sites (i.e. archive.is, web.archive.org, ghostarchive.org) so that links are widely accessible to the community and so that reactionary sources don’t derive data/ad revenue from Hexbear users. Reminder that “Stockholm Syndrome” isn’t real and isn’t recognized as such. It all comes from one instance (and apologies, I’m going off of memory) of a woman who was kidnapped but she didn’t want the pigs to intervene because she knew they would make the situation worse and would be more likely to kill her than work the situation out (which she was working on). Later, a psychologist evaluated her and was basically “well that’s just silly to not trust cops, you’re a woman and irrational so clearly you must have fallen in love with your captors”. And that’s literally how we got “Stockholm Syndrome”.
