Welcome to c/news! Please read the Hexbear Code of Conduct and remember... we're all comrades here.
Rules:
-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --
-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --
-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --
-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also nitter.net (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --
-- Mass tagging comm moderators across multiple posts like a broken markov chain bot will result in a comm ban--
-- Repeated consecutive posting of reactionary sources, fake news, misleading / outdated news, false alarms over ghoul deaths, and/or shitposts will result in a comm ban.--
-- Neglecting to use content warnings or NSFW when dealing with disturbing content will be removed until in compliance. Users who are consecutively reported due to failing to use content warnings or NSFW tags when commenting on or posting disturbing content will result in the user being banned. --
-- Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society. --
How likely is it that Ukraine's invasion will succeed? It seems like a suicide mission, honestly. No army has ever survived invading Russia.
They're going to be fucked when winter rolls in.
I feel bad for any non-azov Ukrainian soldiers who were forced into this war by US meddling.
You have to go die in the war against Russia because Lindsey Graham doesn't want Putin's hands on the lithium honey
Wait Ukraine has Lithium?
per nyt in 2022
well yeah.. of course it is... just like always... there just happen to be some other side-benefits!
Breadbasket of Europe too
It failed when they failed to capture the Kursk NPP within 48 hours.
This. That was their goal, which was impossible.
It's a lot btw. The forced conscription videos coming out of Ukraine are insane. Straight up press ganging and kidnapping in broad daylight of men who are sometimes in their 40s or 50s, getting beaten and thrown in a van.
Russia should provide a helpline for these conscripts to surrender and move to Russia to avoid death. Although Ukrainians will probably kill their families if they surrender.
That's exactly what the Free_Soldier2022 channel is
" using a specially created Telegram channel for this purpose"
What even counts as succeeding? There's no way it causes Russia to surrender (i.e. give everything back to Ukraine, including Crimea), and Russia is already perfectly willing to have an actual negotiated peace, but Ukraine isn't.
Just capturing Kursk? That seems pretty unlikely, and it wouldn't do anything anyway. Then again the whole incursion into Russia was dumb in the first place.
Someone shoud remind them of the last battle of Kursk. History repeated as farce.
it seems like a desperate flailing because they have nothing left to lose at this point
are they still gonna be there when winter rolls in?
Probably not lmao
Seems like Russia's long-range strategic strike capabilities make it inevitable that Ukraine's force will be fucked before wintertime.
About as likely as me getting a date with Cara Delevingne lmao
