The switch 2 is basically confirmed, a lot of journalists claimed there was a behind-doors showcase of it to people in the industry showing Zelda running a lot smoother.
I think everyone will be happy if it's just the Switch again with higher specs. Backwards compatibility sounds great.
That's what I'm hoping for as well. The Switch is a great console and the only thing it really needs is upgraded hardware.
Yep, they NEED to fix their old controllers thats for sure.
Stick drift isn't real, y'all just abuse your controllers ๐
Lol no. It's a well documented design flaw/limitation with the cheaper analog stick design used in modern controllers, much like the design flaws in N64 joysticks that lead them to degrade over time.
These new joysticks work by two things (pretty sure it's graphite pads) rubbing against each other directly. This results in increased wear and far earlier failure compared to the previously used hall effect design that used magnets to detect stick position, as that design has far fewer parts rubbing against each other.
For fucks sake, Nintendo even did a recall on joycons where you could send in busted ones and get them repaired for free. Do you really think they just willingly spent money doing that for something that was the consumer's fault? Get the fuck out of here.
I've had SEVEN JOYCONS, ALL FROM DIFFERENT TIME PERIODS AND SELLERS. Stop treating tiny plastic sticks like they're made of metal.
I'm hoping for this too. But knowing Nintendo, they'll add some gimmick or innovation to it. It's hard to imagine they'll just release a more powerful Switch. Hopefully whatever they innovate with is fun and successful.
I'm fine with some weird 3D feature that i turn off all the time. That was the gimmick of the 3ds but i guess 3d is nothing they would add again. Anything that i just turn off is fine.
The 3D on the 3DS was a harmless gimmick because it could be turned off, and that's what I always did, but I would have liked a cheaper version without it. I think they eventually did that with the 2DS XL.
Yes, but it's very unlike Nintendo to just do a hardware bump with similar form factor; the closest I can think of was DS to 3DS, and that added stereoscopic 3D. So I'd expect some kind of new feature to go with it.
This. However, redesigned Joycons would be must while maintaining compatibility with existing ones. I want to still be able to use my Nyxi Hyperion Pros.
