If I had the option of burning fossil fuels for free to charge my devices or power my home, or to pay and potentially use clean energy, I'm doing the latter all day

What would I do with a tank of petrol? Put it in my shed? ;P

Yeah but you have no control over how other people spend their money. That second hand phone would still be there whether you buy it or not. But if you buy a new one you're giving google more money.

Ideally there would be no second hand google phones because nobody would buy them new, but that's not happening

Hard agree for that entire scene from Disco Elysium, that, the spoiler at the end that helps you to find the scope, and the payphone.

Basically everything in Disco Elysium, there were so many moments that made my jaw drop.

The first 'ending' to Void Stranger.

Horizon Zero Dawn had some jaw dropping moments of storytelling.

Its not the nonprofit whose cookies I am worried about, it is their ~~135~~ 133 partners. I'm also using no script and a hardened Firefox - perhaps you've just accepted the guardian's cookies?

Unfortunately can't read the article without accepting cookies, but the exerpt you shared is indeed poignant and mirrors my own thinking recently. Nothing about the current global climate is encouraging.

I'm trying my best to dive back into the past and play all the gems that I missed as a kid because I was either born too late or too much of a kid to consider playing them. I found myself really disappointed going back to the old mario nes/snes titles because they felt really bad to play as I've become accustomed to modern platformer design sensibilities (like coyote time and responsive movement).

Are there any oldies+goldies that have stood up to the test of time and not shown their age in the same way? Or are so good that they're worth playing despite showing their age? Preferably avoiding racing, sports, and final fantasy-esque titles. Not really interested in anything more recent than PS2 era either.

I already have Earthbound in my sights as it isn't one I've played before but it comes highly recommended.
