At the beginning of the year, the Milka chocolate bar became smaller and more expensive. Consumers have voted the purple chocolate bar as the "Shrinkflation Product of the Year 2025."

Beer consumption in Germany has been declining for years. At the same time, raw material prices are rising. This is putting many breweries under pressure.

„Leikeim“ brewery from Altenkunstadt in Upper Franconia (Lichtenfels district) is currently facing significant pressure.

According to Deutsche Presse-Agentur (dpa), the brewery has filed for insolvency under self-administration. Managing Director Andreas Leikeim stated that the brewery had run into a liquidity bottleneck "due to the significant negative sales and revenue developments in recent years."

Me neither, before I saw the first feathered life-size replicas in dino parks.

And I have to say, they were somehow way more scary than their naked counterparts in my opinion.

So now I am Team Feather!

Well, I am pretty convinced most of the mentioned issues are actually intentional design choices.

Google does want neither the users, nor the app owners to have the best experience, but to control their actions in a way that generates the most revenue for Google.
Prime example for Enshitification.

From Google's point of view, it must not change any of the issues, as everything is working perfectly for them already.

Having just received a Fourth Advent video via messenger, in which The Count of Sesame Street counted the four burning candles, I wondered how much this is common outside of Germany.

Wikipedia tells me that the tradition also is followed in other countries nowadays, but not how much.

So:
Do you know this in your country or maybe even light some candles to count the remaining time until Christmas yourself?

Or have you never heard of it before?
Do you perhaps have any other similar countdown traditions (we e.g. also have Christmas calendars giving you a little tread every day until Christmas)?

What the hell is happening in Denmark at the moment??

First forcing the chat control topic upon Europe, now this?

I looked up their government, would have expected far right or so, but it is liberal social democrat...

So what happens here?

Practically never in my whole live, standing in thousands of checkout lines, have l heard anyone say "Thank you" to another person placing a divider.
Maybe under very special circumstances that primarily had nothing to do with the divider itself.

It is in both person's interest to place it, so the the one who has the opportunity to do it just does.

Had I encountered the woman from the post, I just would have classified her as mentally not entirely stable and kept my distance...

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

Does that conversely also mean that a woman with a beard does not need to wear a hijab?

Precise locations and revealing movement patterns: the mobile phone location data of millions of people in the EU is up for sale. Collected supposedly only for advertising purposes, this data can also be used for espionage. European data protection is failing – even top EU officials in Brussels are affected. The EU Commission says: ‚We are concerned.“

Have already been since at least two years or so, although maybe on a slightly more limited scale.
The lower mid-range Motorola phone of my gf had a hard-to-disable active wallpaper app that displayed nice pictures, but had a prominent field leading directly to online ads when accidentally pressed (which happened a lot).
Also reactivated itself after each OS update.

Considering how intentionally malecious the side effects of typical genie-wishes tend to be, the extra electron probably comes to rest in the wishers hypophysis and causes a free radical that leads to a rare sort of cancer that prevents the wisher from falling asleep ever again, so he dies in madness scratching out his own eyes.
0r something similar along that line.
