I don't know what circles you run with, but most "nonpolitical" people I speak to have become very dissatisfied with the western system. They starting to realize that we have never been a democracy. I don't think that the people who are still clinging to liberal democracy are being honest with themselves. They're desperate for direction and stability.
People know shit sucks but they don't know what to do about it because they're overwhelmed, scared and tired.
Things suck and it's getting worse, but there are opportunities to radicalize that we can take advantage of, no matter how small. Also, things can change wildly without us expecting it. Decades in weeks and all that.
