The EHRC put out some statutory guidance (aka binding in law) which made things broadly worse for trans people for a little while, but has since been downgraded to the non-legally-binding kind due to legal challenges^1^. The chair of the EHRC got thrown out and replaced with an about equally (if not more) transphobic chair who has been quietly working on the new guidance, which I hear very bad things about - word is it's being released soon, but right now everyone's just waiting to see what it says. Some / many private companies have used the opportunity to make their policies more transphobic in the meantime, so things are de-facto worse right now, but the full impact hasn't landed yet.

^1^ It's a bit more complicated than this (I'm not a lawyer), but I do remember they tried to do take-backsies later and say it was never statutory guidance despite originally calling it that

According to Sultana, no - but I agree they really should have picked a name by now.

What's more concerning is the lack of clarification on policy. They welcomed prominent transphobe Mark Serwotka (whose wife was a founding member of A Woman's Place UK) into the party, and seem to be ignoring all criticism of that, so things aren't looking good on that front.

I just love how it's not even a question anymore that the US will annex Canada and/or Greenland in the next few decades

how is recognising statehood contingent on a ceasefire? either you believe they deserve a state or you don't

really shows how useless the green's messaging is when they can't even beat JC by himself in a hypothetical scenario

AP: Thousands gather in London to support trans rights following UK ruling over definition of woman

Including this wonderful bit of cognitive dissonance:

Trans groups are worried that Wednesday’s landmark decision would undermine their rights, even though the U.K.'s highest court said transgender people remain protected from discrimination. The head of Equality and Human Rights Commission said the ruling will mean transgender women will be excluded from women’s toilets, hospital wards and sports teams.

Of course, the BBC has the real news: Westminster statues vandalised at trans protest

cw slurBasically some removed rights activists wrote "removed rights <3" in chalk (not even spray paint) on a suffragette statue, also the statue of a "South African Statesman" got improved with a pro-trans message but you can see why some outlets like the Telegraph are leading with the first one

I had a thought the other day that if this guy just played his cards right, he would be where elon is now (or close by). Instead he went all-in on the nazi stuff just a bit too early

Does the dprk focus on science, and are they making innovations that perhaps the west does not know of?
