โค๏ธ. Bro, that's beautiful. Keep it that way. The guilt starts pouring right away once I think of buying anything for myself. I'm so fucking cheap when it comes to buying shit for myself. You'll find me lurking around the Facebook market place getting the cheapest deals possible, and they get all the good stuff.

[-] penquin@lemm.ee 1 points 9 hours ago

I used to be that and I have no idea how and when I started caring. But you know, I'm turning that shit off as of now and will now look at it.

[-] penquin@lemm.ee 1 points 9 hours ago

Honestly, you're right. I've been patient for a long time and I can pull another year or two. I've been eying the RX7800xt. It's on Amazon for $550ish. Maybe it'll get cheaper when the new GPUs launch and I can then snag me one of them. Or maybe even the 7900xt? Will see

Man, people kill for those clouds and shadows and I'll never understand that. I guess I'm just too old school ๐Ÿ˜‚

[-] penquin@lemm.ee 2 points 10 hours ago

Boie, you'd better do that.

[-] penquin@lemm.ee 2 points 10 hours ago

3080ti is actually a badass GPU. Upgrading from it would be only a luxury and for someone who's perusing those extra frames. I'd be so grateful if I had a 3080ti

[-] penquin@lemm.ee 1 points 10 hours ago

Aaaah, good old saints Row. Love that game

[-] penquin@lemm.ee 2 points 10 hours ago

That made me laugh ๐Ÿ˜‚. Simple is always good, as long as you're having fun. 3070 would definitely do even 4k at 30FPS on medium or low. My RX 6600 does that easily on pretty much every game.

[-] penquin@lemm.ee 7 points 1 day ago

Nope, you're not a snob, you just have a different preference, and that's totally fine.

[-] penquin@lemm.ee 10 points 1 day ago

Got spoiled. lol

I'm asking YOU and what YOU think is playable and you'd enjoy it , not games.

For me, anything 25 FPS or higher is 100% fine and I'll be enjoying my time. I never play competitive online shooter games ever, though. All single player ones like GOW and the likes. I game on a 60 Hz 4k monitor. GPU is AMD RX 6600 alongside Ryzen 7 5700G and 32GB RAM. My games are set to meduim most of the time at 4k. Demanding titles are on low. Surprisingly, GOW and GOW Ragnarok are both set to ultra and I still get around 40ish FPS.

I've set up Linux mint for my sister in law and didn't hear from her the whole two years she was in college. But nowadays we have immutable distros. They're fantastic for a set it and forget it kinda thing. They're solid for those who don't want things to break.

Are we? Seems like GPUs are not available on launch, or even after a long while. Scalpers are at it again. Should I not wait and look into the used market?

I've tried all the "font detectors" online and none of them gave me the name of the actual font. They all looked kinda the same but they're not the same font. Could someone please identify it and let me know? Thank you in advance.
EDIT: Here is the site where I found it. Please ignore the content. It's a long story

Hi all, I'm kind of confused on this. My cat eats very slowly all day long. She'd go to her food bowl constantly throughout the day for a couple of bites and then back to whatever she does. I think we spoil her by making her food available at all times, my wife doesn't think so. She throws up here and there and I'm thinking because she eats too much. So, my question to you all is, how often do you feed your cat? Do you fill its bowl all day like me? Do you have specific times of the day where you give them a certain amount each time and nothing in between? I'm leaning towards doing the latter. Give her, let's say, half a cup in the morning and let her munch on it as much as she wants and the other half in the evening and nothing in between. She freaks out when her bowl is empty and starts crying and acting like she's about to die of starvation. Give her food, then she takes one bite and leaves. Bro, wtf. Lol. So any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Coming from the old style ones where the camera angle moved automatically to this one was a huge disappointment. To me, it is now just another AAA game. Nothing makes it special like the first 4 plus Ascension. Last one I played was the 2018 one and it wasn't as bad as this one. I feel like I'm too close behind Kratos and my field of view is too narrow. You can only see the enemies in front of you. They removed those cool animations that you get when open a chest. So many things that made GOW what it is are gone. I played for about 2 hours hoping I'd get used to it, but nope, I couldn't continue. I stopped and uninstalled the game. Am I the only who feels this way about this game?

Did he? Or was it like that even back then? I'm reading this book, and it's like a carbon copy of our world in the US nowadays. I keep yelling "oh my god, this is basically happening right now!!!" Not as blatant and (I don't know the word) as in the book, but essentially the same. The book is like now, but on steroids (to explain the word I'm missing). The divide/polarization, the police brutality, the pollution, corporations and exploitation, the government's overreach..... Etc, it's all here now.

Hi all, I played the shadow of the tombs raider back in August and got to about 25% of it. Today I wanted to play it and thought I'd be able to just continue, but I was wrong. First, steam was saying the game was "out of sync" so I clicked it and it said it was "up to date". Launched the game and it's almost from scratch, like 1 %, so me panik. Looked into the saved data files and they have all these .dat files with one that is a cloud one. Looked online and found a post where someone said I can download my old saves and add them to the folder. Sure enough, downloaded the .dat files for the correct date, but they have reaaaaally long names that have the paths to where they were saved then at the end of each name was the correct name (blahblahblahlinuxsomethingsave206.dat for example). Tried two ways,

One: removed the existing .dat files and replaced them with the ones I downloaded (with their long names)and launched the game. Same thing. I was watching the new ones get created and take over the old ones. Nope, still 1% in the game.

Two: same as one, but I renamed the files to match the existing ones which I removed and replaced. So, save202.dat, save206.dat, profile.dat.....etc Same thing. Am I doing this wrong? How do I go about it? I really don't want to start over on the game. I run Linux, if that makes any difference. Thank you in advance.

I can't help but always worry that one day I'll need paper books. I don't know what it is, but I feel like I should start collecting paper books instead of every single book I have is on my Kobo. Which do you do? If you get paper books, is there a source that sells cheaper books. Books are kind of pricey where I look.

I have the permanently delete option enabled on the right click menu, and every time I want to delete something, this is how large it shows up. Here. Is there a way to make it smaller? This is unnecessarily large for a window with very little functionality. Is this a bug that I should report?

Even gamers nexus' Steve today said that they're about to start doing Linux games performance testing soon. It's happening, y'all, the year of the Linux desktop is upon us. แ••(แ›)แ•—

Edit: just wanted to clarify that Steve from GN didn't precisely say they're starting to test soon, he said they will start WHEN the steam OS releases and is adopted. Sorry about that.

Hi all,
I have all AMD and I wanted to try and set the integrated GPU for passthrough for VMs and leave the discrete one for my daily use. Is this doable? If so, how complicated would it be?
Processor: Ryzen 7 5700G with Radeon vega integrated graphics card
GPU AMD RX 6600.
Thank you
