When the whole Reddit fiasco started happening, I saw a lot of people wiping and deleting their Reddit accounts and moving elsewhere, like here on Lemmy.

Now that it's starting to die down a little bit, does anyone regret doing that? Or are you glad that you took that step?

I asked if people chose iPhone for the blue bubbles elsewhere a couple days ago, and while there was some good discourse on that post, the blue bubbles definitely also came up as a reason.

In my experience, when people find out my texts are green, they oftentimes would rather switch to a different platform altogether like Instagram or just not text at all.

Is this actually a deal-breaker in friendships out there?

Like a lot of others, I've been looking at Reddit alternatives recently which is what landed me here at Lemmy.

How do you think Lemmy compares to Reddit? But also, for people who have tried other Reddit alternatives than Lemmy, how do they compare? What has been the pros and cons of each community for you?

Friends found a way to get our scheduling website to leak our schedules weeks early completely client-side. Because a lot of schools use that website, the information spread and all of a sudden we had people from Kentucky in our Discord server asking us how to do it. You're welcome, random Kentuckians.

Fake/bot accounts have always existed. How many times has a "YouTuber" ran a "giveaway" in their comments section?

Who's Lenny? Depends on if they're cool or not

Yes, I'm the one in the group DM that turns the bubbles green, I'm sorry.

But other than that, I don't hear many other reasons why people actually prefer iPhones over Androids. What other reasons are there?

The communities are a lot smaller as is to be expected, but it feels really good compared to Reddit. People are active enough and the overall design is so much less cluttered.

Although the bar is pretty low, given that half the Reddit app is just ads.

I just use 123password for all of my passwords, so I don't need one.

I prefer landscape videos over vertical videos. I still remember when vertical videos were clowned on so hard that there were songs written about it. Now it's how everyone consumes their content!

My guess is someone who really, really, really wants you to see the advertisements. With a little bit of content on the side.

The problem is that Reddit Shorts is something I could ABSOLUTELY see happening in the near future

To be fair, I think shirts already have holes, but if I said "there's a hole in my shirt" you'd think there was an EXTRA hole

This app. (lemmy.world)

Finally tried the official Reddit app. It's as bad as they say.

At work we somehow landed on the topic of how many holes a human has, which then evolved into a heated discussion on the classic question of how many holes does a straw have.

I think it's two, but some people are convinced that it's one, which I just don't understand. What are your thoughts?
