An old phrase that's stuck with me over the years, although I forget where I heard it:

I like it when my code works first time. It's like Christmas, but less often.

Oof. Thanks for that kick in the feeling department.

The lack of upload date is the thing that already bugs me the most about YouTube Shorts. Well, maybe the second most after the entire concept.

Polaris is 45-67 million years old.

The oldest total-group chondrichthyans, known as acanthodians or "spiny sharks", appeared during the Early Silurian, around 439 million years ago.

It's not even close.

Welcome to the Eurogamer 100, a list of video games that aims to reflect their ever-changing nature. Rather than ranking games by their influence or significance, the below list is a suggestion of the very best things you can play at this moment, according to us.

It's a pretty good list, I think, although there are a few "wtf" moments here and there as I see what's included and what's omitted.

I'll cut right to the chase. I'm playing the Aquarius expedition and I got a ship called The Celeste when I started. I fixed it up a bit, filled the inventory, and then, when I got enough nanites, I claimed the Iron Vulture from a previous expedition at The Anomaly.

The Iron Vulture appeared, and I began emptying some of my exosuit storage so I could transfer stuff out of The Celeste into the Vulture. For some reason, however, I cannot spawn in The Celeste again. So the ship, its technology, and cargo are all gone.

I have not had this problem in the past, so I'm really not sure what happened.

I can't even remember everything I lost, but I really wish I could get it all back.

I advise caution for anyone else looking to do the same thing.

So, wading in here with a gut reaction and no nuance, he's charged with all these crimes because the platform he runs has them being organized between its users?

Who do we arrest if a crime is organized via phone call on T-Mobile's network, or via mail?

Is it a case of cooperation, where Telegram is completely refusing to help, or is it just a case of "encryption bad, privacy bad" from the French government?

I just wanted to make this little post to say that after losing my previous permadeath save after 12 hours, I persisted, and made it to the center on my second attempt.

I kind of cheesed it though, thanks to the teleporter on the anomaly, and a guy named Jeff Pesos who happened to have a base one hop away from the galaxy's center.

I did manage to do this on the Playstation many years ago, but I recently got back into the game on PC and wanted to 100% it.

Anyway, that's it, thanks Jeff Pesos!

Boomer? This is an irrational joke.

When I worked at Amazon we had data for every little decision we made. Do you want to change the color of a button? Run an A/B test and see if it improves some metric.

Want to stop supporting a 5-year-old device? Go determine the total number of impacted people and figure out some way to compensate them.

Want to get promoted? Get 5 people you worked with to answer specific questions about your work over the last year.

Want to make an entire workforce return to an office after they kept your company afloat during a pandemic? Want to increase commute time? Want to increase cars on the road? Want to make new parents spend less time with their kids? No need for any data, some guy says he knows better.

Then throws the notes away and calls everyone commies, guaranteeing their own low wages, long hours, and unsafe work conditions.

Yeah, creators, just build, host, and maintain your own streaming video service.

I'll believe this in 7 years.

If you're on a work visa and you don't want to get deported then you do what daddy Elon tells you.
