TL;DR

We have examined the leak sample and have determined this was NOT a breach of Steam systems.

You do not need to change your passwords or phone numbers as a result of this event. It is a good reminder to treat any account security messages that you have not explicitly requested as suspicious. We recommend regularly checking your Steam account security at any time at https://store.steampowered.com/account/authorizeddevices

These can be turned off. Not great that they’re on by default, but you gotta pay the bills somehow right?

It’s particularly choice that the reader-added context uses simple.Wikipedia.org

Not sure if it’s directly related, but I donate to the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF). They’re quite active in the technology space and I feel that they also carry the FOSS ethos.

Hi, loving the app!

Something I hope could be added as a feature would be the ability to set an instance to use as the base for all link creation. As an example, I would like to always share Lemmy.world links when I’m sending links to posts to my friends. Currently, the share button shares the canonical link to wherever the OP’s home instance is.

There is a web app called Lemmyverse.link that will create Lemmy.world links from any Lemmy link, but it would be extremely convenient if this functionality were built into Voyager.

Ideally this could be added as a feature to Lemmy, but in the meantime, I’m hoping it could be added to Voyager!

Direct from the Cloudflare Blog

I find their write ups to be fascinating.

Honestly that’s way less than it should be given how much other passengers were inconvenienced. That might be harder to quantify the value of, though, I suppose.

This is definitely great news and refreshing to see from a company, but this came out two months ago.

Edit: it looks like Proton just recently sent an email about this to their ProtonMail subscribers which is likely why this got posted just now.

Smart, I wouldn’t want anyone to know I lived in Michigan either

I don’t think anyone knows what a C° is

Most every kid who has taken high school science should know what °C is, though

Wow, 1993 to 2024, not a bad first-class support lifetime.

When sharing a post, the app defaults to using the URL from the home instance of the poster. I’d prefer to share the link as it exists from my home instance.
