Super minor but there’s also a missing ‘A’ in the “add paper maps” line

This is the problem with the network effect, everybody using marketplace is saying the same thing. I’m not trying to shame you in particular for this or anything but I think it’s important to consider that at some point if we don’t just make the move off anyway, nobody ever will

I felt more revulsion reading that comment than when I first read @SatansMaggotyCumFart@lemmy.world’s username, so I can’t really blame people for reflexively downvoting. Still, that’s part of what makes it so funny imo so I’m not complaining personally

Wow this was a really interesting read, I’d love to see this method benchmarked against conventional text rendering

Was this from @mutilated_sphincter@lemmy.world’s username prompt?

For any modern day (western society, anyway) examples you have a really good point, but keep in mind for women in the recent past there would realistically not be any “due process” if they even managed to get an abuser into a courtroom.

“I hunted this guy down and killed him cuz he was an asshole” is very different from “I had no way to escape this guy and I did what I had to to get away”. The fact that these women had to resort to murder to get away from their abusers is disgusting, but until/unless I live thru a situation like theirs I’ll personally save my judgement for the system that put them in that position rather than the women themselves.

The South Korean radical feminist 4B movement, in which women swear off marriage, childbirth, dating men, and sex with men, has sparked intense conversations among Americans on social media. Here is what you need to know about 4B.

Q: How did the 4B movement start?

A: It was developed in South Korea by a group of women who watched Bridget Jones’ Diary and realized men are more trouble than they’re worth.

Q: Why is it gaining popularity after the election?

A: Just a coincidence.

Q: Who are its members?

A: Thousands of women who haven’t seen you in that sleeveless hoodie yet

Q: Isn’t the Korean 4B movement virulently transphobic and homophobic?

A: Typical male question.

Q: Who benefits the most from this movement?

A: The 2028 Vance presidential campaign.

Q: Isn’t this the plot of Lysistrata?

A: Wow, someone has a classics degree

Q: Why are Americans joining the 4B movement?

A: To improve TikTok engagement for women everywhere.

Q: What can men do to help?

A: Whatever they’re doing now is already helping increase membership just fine.

Hello knife people, I (very much not a knife person) have been suckered in by dual_sport_dork’s posts and am finally biting the bullet and buying one of those knives. I know approximately nothing about knives except what weird knife Wednesday has taught me, which is mostly how to shit talk cursed knock-offs, so I’m hoping for some advice on how to stick the landing of my jump into this hobby.

I’m trying to buy HUAAO’s Bugout 535 ripoff, and this knife-buying-experience is off to a rocky start because the Amazon link on dual_sport_dork’s writeup tells me shipping isn’t available to my region. Maybe this is just seller-related, maybe these knives are illegal in Canada, I don’t know and to be real honest I don’t give a fuck. I found knivesprecisionedge.com, which claims to be a “trusted store” and “100% issue-free” - sketchy as fuck, honestly. Has anybody else used this site? How bad am I about to get scammed?

Assuming they’re at least somewhat legit and ship me this knife, and that it makes it into the country, is there anything I should know about owning a knife like this? Care tips, how not to use it, anything like that? The main thing it’ll be used for is as a camping knife, if that matters.

Obligatory fuck ford - the irony of his corrupt ass calling anyone else greedy is almost funny - but more importantly why would this be a problem? The article says Singh denies the pension is a factor, but if he wanted to hold out a little longer to get the money that he’s earned then… good for him? They don’t even seem to be accusing him of prioritizing that over the public good or anything, just of wanting money that he *checks notes* worked for and would meet the criteria to claim? The ability to scoff at being paid for your political work is a red flag to me (might indicate corruption/generational wealth/etc), and they’re really out here acting like it’s a moral requirement for office.

Yeah nah gay guy here to ruin your theory - I’ve got absolutely no attraction to boobs and/or feminine asses. I’m sure some tendency towards bisexuality is more common than strict homo/hetero-sexuality, but I strongly doubt I’m alone in this either.

Sometimes it makes me sad to think how much humor like this will be lost when time removes the context that enables it
