are libs still saying that the Russo-Ukraine war is not a proxy war against Russia? Amerikkka is the one that is deciding Ukraine's fate

This isn't much of a story. Assuming such an offer was discussed, I wonder what the context is around it.

I think the context here is that the US is pulling out of the war, and Russia is giving them an out. Trump can now say that Russian terms are acceptable and proceed to further normalize relations, meanwhile if Europe and Ukraine don't like the deal then they're on their own.

yeah I guess I mean what other terms are associated with this. there's a big difference between russia offering to '...stop along the current line of conflict if ukraine fires the azov nazis into the sun' versus 'we'll stop along the current line of conflict and allow euro/NATO 'peacekeepers' to deploy in ukraine'

Russian terms have remained the same throughout the conflict. Russia demands that Ukraine will not join NATO, that it will not be able to host foreign troops on its territory, or make military agreements without Russian consent. They insist on denazification, and drastic reduction of Ukrainian military. Ukraine will have to revert back to neutrality in its constitution, and restore equality for Russian language/culture.

Moscow could relinquish its claims to areas of four partly occupied Ukrainian regions that remain under Kyiv’s control

Seems like a horrible idea. Just setting up future issues.

I think that's highly unlikely myself. Russian position hasn't changed throughout the war, and I don't see why it would now when they're clearly winning.

Perhaps if the two worlds are (1) rump western Ukraine with nato forces present as peace keepers and Ukraine de facto part of nato or (2) a demilitarized neutral Ukraine that retains more territory, with Russia not taking as much as they likely could.

Maybe (2) looks more attractive for a long term settlement than going for a maximalist territorial win.

Exactly, and if Ukraine is blocked from NATO and EU going forward, it's going to fall under Russian influence in the long run because it's going to become economically dependent on Russia. Once the proxy war is lost, and it becomes clear that Russia will not allow a repeat of 2014, then the west will lose interest in pouring money into Ukraine.
