i am extremely upset by this post. Not because it is fake news presented as fact requiring a click thru to see it is from the onion, —the very reason i block fakenews— but because of the meta crap going on within hexbear.

Gonna have to disagree on this. Keeping Onion posts out of c/news is understandable, but this isn't c/news, it's c/chapotraphouse. This was never a 100% super serious all the time news comm.
