it's like a big as hell fully rigged sail boat or whatever. I don't know shit about boats except that everything they do is expensive.

seeing the headline, I had imagined it was some warship and thought it would be cool if they had maneuvered into the East River to begin shelling Wall Street as part of the tariff talks. like that gunboat diplomacy the Yankees like so much.

how do you fumble a bridge sadness

fucking hate how every piece of footage I've seen has been "lol, mexicans cant drive boats!!!" comments when the footage has an engine powered boat moving backwards into the bridge

like shit yeah, maybe in a better case scenario the anchor could have been dropped faster or whatever, but this clearly isn't just someone steering wrong

Yes the comment sections on every video I've seen have been stomach-turning, even for an internet veteran such as myself. Many many comments that are either jokes like you said, or some variation of "Why the FUCK was a MEXICAN NAVAL VESSEL in OUR HARBOR? We need to HOLD THE SURVIVORS HOSTAGE until Mexico pays to FIX OUR BRIDGE!"

I see a tugboat moving alongside in some of the videos. There has also been reports of the ship losing power. Sounds like a lot of failures piling up together to create this accident. Some of those were on the ship, but also possibly from the tugboat(s) and crews.

I learned this here on chapo.chat but apparently the difference between just taking out a bridge and not doing that can be like 15 seconds of power

Same exact situation happened in Baltimore

joining the navy and then dying this way is hilariously tragic. doing this serves no purpose other than the navy jerking themselves off. it's like the Oscars.
