Imagine all the wasted hours and public resources that could be avoided if this woman just bought herself a Hitachi Magic Wand
We don't have satanic panics like we did in the 20th century. With everyone cloistered in their own specialized bubble of the internet, we have constant rolling panics of relatively small in numbers, yet broadly spread out geographically. In the past, people had to stoke one another to a boil in local communities, with fuel national delivered by papers/radio/tv. Now the stoking and the fuel comes all in one. You don't get a group of people you can point to and say, "You're all freaking out over Elvis, when did you become your dad?". It's just one lady in your neighborhood, in everyone's neighborhood, dead-set on finding the devil in your library.
And the other two were removed before she got around to challenging them, it's not like she thought there were any books that were okay.
my mind is so warped by those old pizza hut reading challenges that it took me a minute to realize we're talking about banning books. I was like hell yeah that's a good rate, bet she got several personal pans out of that
