But complex analysis is surprisingly tame, at least any differentiable functions are locally infinite polynomials. Real analysis, on the other hand.. shudders

Isn’t the reason that plants invented caffeine in the first place was precisely to ward off pests, particularly arthropods? And it’s just cool as shit that it does other effects to mammals other than killing us?

Don’t you dare try to take away my coffee.

Yeah, arthropods have some of the same neurotransmitters and similar receptor proteins but it's very different in their nervous system.

That 56 sparks street, Ottawa, right?

Mamadou Ndiaye - aka Casual Geographic - needs to come here and do so, so many new Hinterland Who's Who eps for us.

We should give him a new passport as part of the deal if he wants it. He's like a national treasure for more than a few nations.

Today I learned caffeine has a similar effect on spiders to what alcohol has on humans. That spider is drunk.

[-] crawancon@lemm.ee 7 points 6 hours ago

[-] tdawg@lemmy.world 4 points 6 hours ago

I never considered that nasa might fund other forms of research besides just space. Or where they going to test LSD + no gravity next

[-] WeirdGoesPro@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 hour ago

I would like to offer myself as the spider in that experiment.

[-] Vespair@lemm.ee 6 points 6 hours ago

Okay so I know I'm not a spider but like, where do I sign up for these trials?
