Honestly I considered the fallout inevitable from day 1. 2 narcisists with short term alignment of goals. An explosion was very predictable.

Trump is like one of those supervillains with the chairs that go over, lava pits or sharks with fricking laser beams of whatever. After watching him throw his allies under the bus 20 times, you just gotta scratch your head and go "how the hell does he keep finding minions, I understand people who follow out of self interest, their own evil and selfishness, but how many people can you watch have their lives wrecked and think "yeah but that wouldn't happen to me".

Yeah, it's ridiculous people legit are still saying:

What it's it's 17d chess???!

I could almost imagine it started as a manufactured thing but the egos got in the way. Honestly though, nothing is gonna happen because Trump always chickens out

No. I think they both lose more than they gain here. It doesn't make sense as a strategy. Ego clash is a simple explanation.

They're both egomaniacal, drug-addicted narcissists. There's no possible way they could work together long-term.

Trump can't stand Musk getting any credit and Musk can't stand Trump giving him any blame.

So no, I think this was completely inevitable.

It seemed inevitable to me. The people saying it's kayfabe haven't said why they would do this. The best I can think of is that Elon needed to appear to be back at the helm at Tesla and SpaceX, but if Trump follows through on removing EV credits and messing with SpaceX's government contracts… what was the point in pretending, again?

Are we really to believe that Trump has the attention span for some weird long con? Are we to believe he's forgotten the humiliation of being shushed on live TV by Elon's brat? Trump has no friends. He doesn't like Elon.

And if it's all fake, someone explain how awkwardly Elon bites his tongue in that exit interview.

Anyways, Jon says it better than I can: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIhlC3L99x8

Revenge for personal slights is one of the only things Trump has the attention span for. It would not surprise me if he maintains a dwarf-esque Book of Grudges.

I don't think he will ever let this go, even if Heritage Foundation shitkickers try to smooth things over. With Tesla's stock price and perhaps even solvency being carried on the back of the Trump administration for the past few months, Elon and his ventures are in deep shit.

If it was, it seems to have backfired.

It's meant to distract us from Stephen Miller's Nazi bullshit along with the asshole running doge.

[-] Soliae@lemm.ee 1 points 1 month ago

Absolutely.

We all mostly knew Trump was in Epstein.

Everything else has been feces slinging with zero real action.

Whereas when either of these two drug addicts are really mad, they take stupid and extreme action.

MAGA cultists knew deep down he's a kiddy fiddler along with all the other horrible shit garbage monsters like Trump get up to, but they liked having plausible deniability. This wasn't staged or they would have used something tamer.

Indeed. The difference between controlled demolition and rapid unplanned disassembly falls somewhere around the line of "yeah, the guy I've spent the past year practically living with is a child rapist." It ain't planned

[-] Skiluros@sh.itjust.works -1 points 1 month ago

Does it really matter?

I am not American (have lived there and have travelled across the country), but either option doesn't really change anything in terms of broad social support for corruption and degenerate behaviour (head doctor going for a swim with his granddaughter in a river polluted by waste water).
