Donald Trump posted a laundry list of reasons why he believes that he should get a Nobel Peace Prize.

In a Truth Social post, the president celebrated that he was “very happy” to report on a series of deals and agreements to end global conflicts that he “won’t get a Nobel Peace Prize for.” The post came on the heels of Pakistan’s announcement that they plan to nominate him for the 2026 award, _The Hill _reported.

Trump just announced that he order air strikes on Iran…and now he wants a Peace Prize? Gtfo…

[-] Almacca@aussie.zone 15 points 1 week ago

From the ABC (Aus) story I just read: 'After dropping the bombs, Mr Trump said now was the time for peace,... '

Insanity.

He said that in the same tweet that he announced the US attacked Iran.

Just saw that as well. What the fuck is congress doing?

Same thing they've always done: nothing.

[-] SayJess@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 week ago

The party in control of the house and senate is praising him.

[-] Almacca@aussie.zone 1 points 1 week ago

The mind boggles.

  • He is waging war against his own country
  • He threatens to invade Greenland
  • He threatens to invade Panama
  • He is actively attempting to destroy the economy of his neighbouring country/ally with intent of coercing it into annexation and constantly disrespects its sovereignty.
  • He blatantly said he would encourage Russia to invade other countries and his actions have been supporting that too
  • His cuts in aid will result in thousands of people dying of starvation while food is left rotting in storage

He just unilaterally had 3 nuclear sites in Iran bombed.

[-] fodor@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 week ago

Update: Over 400,000 people have already died from the termination of USAid money, most of those from food bank programs ending.

Nobel Peace Prize? Motherfucker just bombed Iran. Pick a lane you lunatic.

[-] lupusblackfur@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago

Previous U.S. presidents to receive a Nobel Peace Prize include Theodore Roosevelt in 1906, President Woodrow Wilson in 1920, President Jimmy Carter in 2002, and President Barack Obama in 2009. Al Gore, a former vice president, also received the prize in 2007 for his efforts to raise awareness about climate change.

It brings me great joy that Mafia Don Mangolini is so incensed for many years now that these "Dems"/"Progressives" have received the prize and he has not. It sticks in his craw so badly. 😂 🤣

Gotta love it.

🤡 🫏 🖕 💩

Obama having one is what’s causing his ulcer.

[-] Devadander@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago

This fuck just bombed Iran unprovoked. FUCK

[-] DarkDarkHouse@lemmy.sdf.org 8 points 1 week ago

Same fuck that withdrew from the negotiated JCPOA, then complained about Iran not negotiating well enough to get a new deal.

[-] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 10 points 1 week ago

Some no name group in Pakistan should just set up a 'Nobele Peace Prize' committee and award him the prize in a big grand ceremony in Lahore.

In the ceremony, just place a large oversized gold coloured metal cheap copy of the Nobel Peace Prize and put over Trump's neck.

It's not like these idiots follow convention or want to agree with reality - we would know but they wouldn't care and they could go on living in their own delusional reality.

[-] Almacca@aussie.zone 6 points 1 week ago

I'm not creating an account for that website. Does he actually list the reasons, or is there nothing more than claims of a 'series of deals'? That isn't a compelling argument.

[-] huppakee@feddit.nl 12 points 1 week ago

I didn't want to either, so here is a link to the full article: http://archive.today/2025.06.21-220113/https://www.thedailybeast.com/trump-lists-reasons-he-deserves-nobel-prize-in-epic-meltdown/

And here is the part you ask about:

“I won’t get a Nobel Peace Prize for stopping the War between India and Pakistan, I won’t get a Nobel Peace Prize for stopping the War between Serbia and Kosovo, I won’t get a Nobel Peace Prize for keeping Peace between Egypt and Ethiopia (A massive Ethiopian built dam, stupidly financed by the United States of America, substantially reduces the water flowing into The Nile River),” Trump wrote on Friday. “And I won’t get a Nobel Peace Prize for doing the Abraham Accords in the Middle East which, if all goes well, will be loaded to the brim with additional Countries signing on, and will unify the Middle East for the first time in ‘The Ages!’”

He added, “No, I won’t get a Nobel Peace Prize no matter what I do, including Russia/Ukraine, and Israel/Iran, whatever those outcomes may be, but the people know, and that’s all that matters to me!

If they actually give him a nobel peace price I don't think I'll be able to comprehend that. My brain will have an error for as long as I live probably.

[-] watson387@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 week ago

I'd just assume the prize was meaningless after that.

[-] Almacca@aussie.zone 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Thanks. I look forward to the fact checking on all of that from someone better informed than I. I had a quick look, and his sole contribution to the Abraham Accords seems to be selling warplanes to the Saudis, and the Ethiopian thing seems to have fallen apart, so I remain sceptical about his contributions to world peace. Everything else we've seen from the man suggests he's anything but a peacemaker.

[-] DirkMcCallahan@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

Next he'll demand the Nobel Prize in Economics after he crashes the economy.

[-] usualsuspect191@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 week ago

Did he actually do anything with India/Pakistan?

[-] Semi_Hemi_Demigod@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

Unless he is actually melting down in a nuclear reaction please stop reporting on this shit.

I only care about him if he's dead.

[-] otter@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 week ago

Not even then.

[-] teamevil@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Right before igniting chaos across the middle east‽

[-] twistypencil@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Then he bombs Iran

[-] omgboom@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 week ago

Aaaaaanddd he just bombed Iran lol

[-] TommySoda@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

It's okay because it was for peace, he said so himself. Therefore he deserves the prize. /s

[-] knobbysideup@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 week ago

Dementia should be an immediate eviction from office.

[-] Bytemeister@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

That's what the 25th amendment is for, but trump has always been a useful idiot. His mental state has never been a consideration, all that matters is his ability to sign whatever legislation crosses his desk

[-] TommySoda@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Literally all you'd have to do is pull the leash back on Israel.

I think you're confused about who is holding the leash in that relationship

[-] Coolbeanschilly@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 week ago

A man who has to say that he is the king, is not the king.

[-] frunch@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Give me noble prize now ✌️

[-] just_another_person@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago
[-] Doolbs@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

...he hasn't done one thing.

[-] chellomere@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

Well he just bombed Iran, hell of a sign of peace

[-] Samskara@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 week ago

Obama got a Nobel peace prize for doing nothing as well. That’s who Trump compares himself to.

[-] bradinutah@thelemmy.club 1 points 1 week ago

He should get a Nobel Prize just not for Peace. I think there's a new YUGE CRYBABY category that doesn't include any monetary reward that he'd be perfect for. I think jealousy of another certain black man getting a Nobel Prize instead of you is one of the main criteria.

[-] Nasan@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 week ago

Actually comes with a fine, €1000 for each publicized mention of deserving a Nobel prize. Tweets count as a mention.
