I think it's still not available in the EU. Not that I'd download it if it were available.

Honestly forgot it was a thing. I figured that it had disappeared by now.

[-] altima_neo@lemmy.zip 44 points 2 years ago

Haven't thought about threads for weeks... Forgot it was a thing.

[-] jimmydoreisalefty@lemmus.org 26 points 2 years ago

Sad that the UFC fight between him and Elon Musk won't happen.

He does have a lot of experience in BJJ, so good for Elon, hahahahah

[-] killeronthecorner@lemmy.world 26 points 2 years ago

Yeah but Elon had a secret plan. Once he got in the ring he was going to purchase it, then fire everyone inside it.

[-] jimmydoreisalefty@lemmus.org 9 points 2 years ago

Would not doubt that from happening, hahahaha

Under appreciated, because what else could it be

For real tho. What is Threads?

[-] NickwithaC@lemmy.world 17 points 2 years ago
[-] Elivey@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago

Sounds like a bad time.

[-] windtorn@beehaw.org 11 points 2 years ago

The company formerly known as Facebook launched a Twitter competitor called Threads a couple months ago

[-] andthenthreemore@startrek.website 7 points 2 years ago

Launched an X formerly known as Twitter replacement

[-] jaschen@lemm.ee 2 points 2 years ago

Thanks!! I didn't want to search for it to give them any link juice.

[-] Agent641@lemmy.world 17 points 2 years ago

Is this a real image or ai generated?

[-] unconsciousvoidling@lemmy.world 54 points 2 years ago

Zuckerberg was artificially created so it hardly matters.

[-] Jonas_Jones@lemmy.world 13 points 2 years ago

me who is constantly prompted to download it and even if I wanted couldn't, since I live in Europe ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

[-] Varyk@sh.itjust.works 13 points 2 years ago

How bad must his long hair be that he chooses that hairstyle?

[-] Prunebutt@feddit.de 19 points 2 years ago

I've read that this nerd is very into ancient rome.

[-] Varyk@sh.itjust.works 12 points 2 years ago

Oh really? That's a creepy trail I'm disinclined to look into.

Can't stop myself. Of course he idolizes Caesar, the ultimate end justifies the means character.

Not the same path you're taking, mark.

It's like Ben Shapiro watching a Chomsky lecture and thinking "this guy talks words. I talk words too! We're basically the same."

Oh is his tiny haircut an attempt to make his tiny head look bigger?

New layers.

[-] Aggravationstation@feddit.uk 12 points 2 years ago

Don't forget kids, every time a Lemmy instance federates with Threads it makes Mr Zuckerburg cum.

It's a really good film from 1984 about nuclear war

[-] Spendrill@lemm.ee 10 points 2 years ago

Fucking Francis Dolarhyde creeping around again.

'And your data belongs exclusively to me in perpetuity. Do you see?'

[-] UserNotFound@lemmy.world 7 points 2 years ago

Threads is still banned in EU, right? Not that I'm interested in it.

[-] junfel@campfyre.nickwebster.dev 5 points 2 years ago

He is an AI.

[-] son_named_bort@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

No I did not, Mark.

[-] jsh@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 years ago
[-] bighatchester@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

Just looked to see what was happening with threads and they like 80% of its users .

[-] Astroturfed@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago

They clearly came to market too early. Trying to time the death of twitter. The 5-10 minutes I spent on that shit was enough to see how broken it was and how many features were missing. You can't come to market with a broken product in a space that requires exponential growth and the network effect to achieve success.

[-] seitanic@lemmy.sdf.org 5 points 2 years ago

Zuckerberg had the same problem with his metaverse idea.

Although, to be fair, I don't know if there really is a way to make that idea successful. Like flying cars, 3D interfaces are cool in sci-fi but impractical in real life

[-] tdawg@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

I think VR will eventually find a home in games and video conferencing. BUT it will have to be ridiculously good before people are willing to put on a helmet for it

twitter post right below this one

[-] Wage_slave@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 years ago

So far it I've been digging it. There's a pretty steady pilgrimage from X to threads. Loads of people try to keep it from turning into "X" and that always shows up in the feed. So it is pretty reassuring like that. And reminders to start blocking or muting people now to keep a positive vibe going and your own sanity. It's been kinda nice like that.

And I've only managed to piss off one person and that was by total mistake. We cool now.

Edit: that was a shitty response i left. Long day and I shouldn't be on the internet.

But none the less, who fucking knew.

I still hope for federation of Threads. I just wanna be on my own non-Facebook server, but be able to communicate with that domain. Like with email.
