I always hold onto all my grenades for the final fight in KOTOR1.
The slog to the boss often makes me quit during replays.

SWTOR is KOTOR3 for me.
Similar story telling, setting, dialogue, choices, morals and powers.
Only they added multiplayer and a cosmetics shop.
Oddly it's probably become less KOTOR over time, compared to how it was at launch.
And then the eternal empire happened ๐
Cool sci-fi concept, but didn't feel very star wars to me.
That was really a bad move, in hindsight.
Painted themselves into so many corners they've never gotten back out of.
Is SWKOTOR still alive? I kept thinking that they shut it down
Nah, it's been passed off by the Studio to smaller maintenance company, who are doing some nice stuff with it.
New stories keep getting added, though perhaps they're not of the same quality as the originals!
I hated how it played though. And there was so much filler. And a subscription fee. And no mods.
Choices meant even less than in KOTOR and KOTOR2 too.
Fair enough, each to their own!
I didn't feel it played too different to the originals, much of the filler was fun and the fee is optional, so I loved the game.
I've never looked into mods for the first two, except the restoration project, so have no opinion on that point!
And a subscription fee
To be fair, they made it free to play 13 years ago, less than a year after release.
The website still makes it look like there's a subscription and "cartel coins" to buy. I tried to free sometime in the past 10 years and the free mode felt limited. I think you can't sprint , or something insulting like that?
I'd be happy with just a remastered kotor2 tslrcm.
I just want them to finish the KotOR 1 remake already...

Edit: I could not find any information regarding a second cancelation. Could you please share your source with me? As far as I can tell, the game is still in early development.

Mechanically kotor 1 is a great game, kotor 2 is more or less broken and unfinished. Story in both of them is nonsensical and quests sometimes are just insane. Just replayed both games after 15 years.
If Kotor cannot be canon then I don't want the story...
I love this ๐๐คฉ. The KOTOR games are the foundation of philosophy and lore that I measure all other Star Wars by. Really great stuff.
I'm currently playing X-Wing. And what little story there is is still better than Squadrons' shiny clean turd.
Looking forward to XWVM enabling TIE Fighter compatibility.
