And I do my best to leave low effort shitpost comments!

[-] grrgyle@slrpnk.net 7 points 3 weeks ago

Really wouldn't have thought this was an AI image, but thanks for mentioning it. I hate when I'm like "fooled" into thinking an image was fully human authored.

[-] WhyIHateTheInternet@lemmy.world 6 points 3 weeks ago

Would definitely park my car there lmao

[-] lapping6596@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

I was confused when I first joined and thought that they were a community not a user because of the amount of my feed they had

Yay! You labeled the AI! That's literally all I'm asking

[-] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 weeks ago

We must make sure it’s easy for big tech to build clean datasets, after all.

[-] chuckleslord@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

Or, ya know, teach people how to spot it and make it so that everyone knows what it is. Your theoretical is less important than the real, immediate impact of labeling.

[-] mesamunefire@piefed.social 3 points 3 weeks ago

I think reddit once said 1% of people post 90% of the content. I wonder if its the same here :D

What I wouldn't give for a sort post and see who the top posters are of all time are.

Lady Butterfly is a wonderful member of this community!

[-] slowmorella@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 3 weeks ago

yeah, same. I'm happy she exists :)

[-] Aurenkin@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 weeks ago

Yeah same here! I really appreciate all her posts, not just memes but a lot of good discussions in other great communities too that would probably be pretty dead if it weren't for her.

[-] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

I'm mostly here for the possums, bats, and other cute animals from @ickplant@lemmy.world.

[-] ickplant@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

I keep coming to Lemmy in the hopes that I can delete Reddit eventually. Y'all are doing God's work.

[-] cannon_annon88@lemmy.today 1 points 3 weeks ago

Just do it²

[-] fading_person@lemmy.zip 1 points 3 weeks ago

It took me some time to finally leave reddit too. I deleted my account, but had this weird feeling of missing something, so I eventually created another. The thing is like a drug, and I believe all the big social media works the same.

When I went back there after stopping for some time, I could realize how terrible some communities can be, how it was making me feel more depressed and angry, and how I was wasting time from my life in there.

Then I deleted it for good, and filled that void with other things, both online and offline. Now I feel much better. One could argue that lemmy is just another social media, but it's different. it's not designed to keep us glued to the screen and have drug effects.

[-] The_Picard_Maneuver@piefed.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

I remember some people joking about the drop in activity when my kid was born last summer and I was offline for a while. Lol

This is not a sign of health. It just means that a small amount of people is in control of the narrative. Ironic, considering lemmy and what it proposes to project.

Edit: Yes please, downvote. Lemmy is the digital equivalence of gentrification.

They had a bad character arc and started being a shitty asshole, got called out for it, and just left. Probably the best outcome for everyone involved.

[-] jsomae@lemmy.ml 1 points 3 weeks ago

I have started to recognize usernames. This is a problem.

[-] UltraGiGaGigantic@lemmy.ml 1 points 3 weeks ago

You dont knooooow me.

[-] Eh_I@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

And the lazy bastards in front aren't actually helping.
