It's a bug, the translucent rectangle that usually goes behind the time stamp along the bottom right corner of a preview is bugged to the left. Happens to me from time to time

Example

Or, hear me out, the app is trying to give that field cleavage in your examples. Big ol' grass titties of mother earth.

It's working for me

[-] DontEatTheProstitute@lemmy.zip 5 points 3 days ago

Tnx for validating, I thought I was going crazy. Happy that it isn't some AI shenanigans going on 😮‍💨

Oh I noticed this yesterday or earlier today, and I was wondering if I was the only one seeing this bug.

Hopefully they'll fix it soon.

This happened with an academic conference (physics iirc). A professor was asked to speak and she submitted a headshot for use in their advertising, but the conference wanted a different aspect ratio. Rather than crop the image, the materials designer asked ChatGPT to expand the photo to the correct size. It gave the professor a low cut shirt, and no one at the conference company noticed until the promotional materials were distributed and the professor contacted them.

I instantly thought of exactly the same article. Compared to text, image generators seem much more prone to this kind of shit, just spitting society's worst impulses back at us because that's what its been trained to mimic via advertising.

This sounds a little made up. But it could also be true.

I hate this timeliness for reasons like this.

[-] GiorgioPerlasca@lemmy.ml 15 points 4 days ago

Enlarge your breasts with one weird trick. Doctors hate it!

[-] axexrx@lemmy.world 10 points 4 days ago

Me too, but if I wore a v neck there'd be too much hair to tell.

[-] Cysioland@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 4 days ago

Plot twist: the AI gives you a hairy set of badonkers

It looks like a translucent black rectangular overlay that happens to line up with the chest to me.

Why they have it I'm not sure...

[-] PonyOfWar@pawb.social 40 points 4 days ago

That's what it is. The same rectangle exists on pictures of the ocean I recently sent to someone on Whatsapp. Just a weird UI bug I guess.

[-] DontEatTheProstitute@lemmy.zip -1 points 4 days ago

Very much so.. no fucking idea why tho

[-] mannycalavera@feddit.uk 11 points 4 days ago

Cleavage? Those look like pecs. Gurl can bench!

[-] tetrabrick@hexbear.net 8 points 4 days ago

A lot of photos have the problem of photo preview having a weird shadow in the middle of the picture, its a recent update
