I suspect its main purpose is not to be a product in its own right but a tech demo of half the thickness of a folding iPhone when it arrives. Being a niche product for early adopters and fashion victims to be seen with is a secondary purpose.
I've never understood disliking the bump.
Do y'all just go around with no phone case to protect your $1000+ phone?
Once a phone case is on there the bump is negligible, and thinner phone body means thinner case.
I've never used a phone case. I paid for this gorgeous piece of tech made from space age materials and I'll be damned if I cover it with cheap plastic.
Cheap plastic is a space age material.
How about a display with no camera, no blue tooth, no SD card slot.... Just a touch display, that's internet and phone capable. Nothing else.
Maybe offer a modular camera you can attach somehow if people want that add on.
Could be a dumb terminal with the processing done elsewhere.
