Israel trying to pass the hospital bombing off as Palestine doing it is utterly disgusting and guarantees Netanyahu a spot in the deepest pit of Hell for all eternity, obviously, but do not forget that

a) the only reason why Westerners will believe it is because they want to believe it - they are not being brainwashed and this is not some masterful propaganda being weaved around us to turn kind-hearted people into monsters,

b) no Westerner opinions matter at all. In most Western countries there is no real anti-Israel option to vote for even if they did realize that Israel was a giant factory for crimes against humanity, and Westerners protesting against things in general almost never achieves anything (tens of millions protested for BLM in 2020 and not only did the situation not change, it got worse), and

c) the people whose opinions do matter (both the people in the region, and the leaders who aren't already Zionist compradors) already know that Israel is full of shit and that they just murdered nearly a thousand civilians in a single bomb attack.

It is despair-inducing to think that the genocidal Zionist entity is so brazenly, so smugly getting away with bullshitting this away into a cloud of confusion, as they release their metaphorical squid ink just like they did with the stupid babies story, but the propaganda and the media narrative that they are creating isn't what matters. It cannot address the fundamental contradictions ripping the country, the region, and the world apart any more than masterfully-applied makeup can fix a stab wound. It can merely obfuscate.

If you have evidence of Israeli crimes and atrocities that you wish to preserve, there is a thread here in which to do so.

Sources on the fighting in Palestine against Israel. In general, CW for footage of battles, explosions, dead people, and so on:

Resources For Understanding The War

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.

Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.

On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent and very good journalist reporting in the warzone on the separatists' side.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Telegram Channels

Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

Pro-Russian

https://t.me/aleksandr_skif ~ DPR's former Defense Minister and Colonel in the DPR's forces. Russian language.

https://t.me/Slavyangrad ~ A few different pro-Russian people gather frequent content for this channel (~100 posts per day), some socialist, but all socially reactionary. If you can only tolerate using one Russian telegram channel, I would recommend this one.

https://t.me/s/levigodman ~ Does daily update posts.

https://t.me/patricklancasternewstoday ~ Patrick Lancaster's telegram channel.

https://t.me/gonzowarr ~ A big Russian commentator.

https://t.me/rybar ~ One of, if not the, biggest Russian telegram channels focussing on the war out there. Actually quite balanced, maybe even pessimistic about Russia. Produces interesting and useful maps.

https://t.me/epoddubny ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/boris_rozhin ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/mod_russia_en ~ Russian Ministry of Defense. Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a 'propaganda tax', if you don't believe them. Does not cover everything, for obvious reasons, and virtually never details Russian losses.

https://t.me/UkraineHumanRightsAbuses ~ Pro-Russian, documents abuses that Ukraine commits.

Pro-Ukraine

Almost every Western media outlet.

https://discord.gg/projectowl ~ Pro-Ukrainian OSINT Discord.

https://t.me/ice_inii ~ Alleged Ukrainian account with a rather cynical take on the entire thing.

Relatively calm day, probably caused by the opening of the Rafah crossing. Hamas have likely given orders for calm as a result of the aid being priority. IDF have not stopped bombing though.

Lebanon border on the other hand has had constant fighting.

UK police (CPS) say supporting Hamas is an offence (due to being a proscribed group) but supporting "Palestinian Resistance" is likely to not be.

Detroit synagogue president Samantha Woll found dead outside her home

Police have not yet identified a motive, they said.

The article

Detroit synagogue president Samantha Woll found dead outside her home

A politically connected Detroit synagogue president was found stabbed dead this morning outside her home in the city's Lafayette Park neighborhood, east of downtown.

Samantha Woll, 40, led the Isaac Agree Downtown Detroit Synagogue and previously worked for Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin and on the re-election campaign of Attorney General Dana Nessel, both Democrats.

Police said in an afternoon statement that were investigating a body found stabbed multiple times in the 1300 block of Joliet Place. A trail of blood led to the victim's home, where police said they believe the crime occurred.

"I am shocked, saddened and horrified to learn of Sam's brutal murder," Nessel said in a statement. "Sam was as kind a person as I've ever known. She was driven by her sincere love of her community, state and country. Sam truly used her faith and activism to create a better place for everyone."

Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan said he was "devastated" by the loss of "one of Detroit's great young leaders."

"Just weeks ago, I shared a day of joy with Sam at the dedication of the newly renovated Downtown Synagogue," he said. "It was a project she successfully led with great pride and enthusiasm."

Woll had led the synagogue since 2022. A statement sent by its rabbi said it was "shocked and saddened," by Woll's "unexpected death."

"At this point we do not have more information, but will share more when it becomes available. May her memory be a blessing."

Police have not yet identified a motive, they said. A woman was found at 6:30 a.m. after someone reported her lying on the ground unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene, they said.

Woll, who also previously worked in constituent relations for State Sen. Stephanie Chang, was selected as one of The Detroit Jewish News' "36 under 36" in 2017.

According to the news outlet, Woll helped lead the American Jewish Committee's ACCESS Detroit Young Leadership Program and founded the Muslim-Jewish Forum of Detroit, a grassroots organization aimed to build relationships between young adults of those faiths.

"By extending her hand and creating space for connection between Muslims and Jews, she has exemplified the values of healing the world," The Detroit Jewish News article said.

#BREAKING US places additional forces on 'prepare to deploy orders': Pentagon

#UPDATE The Pentagon moved to step up its military readiness in the Middle East, ordering activation of air defense systems "throughout" the region and alerting additional US forces that they may be deployed soon

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said in a statement that the moves were in response to "recent escalations by Iran and its proxy forces across the Middle East."

Austin did not say how many additional US troops would be deployed to the region

Busiest day of the war so far up on the Lebanon front, lots of hits and incidents. Hamas continues to strike settlements with missiles and such, causing mostly minor damage (though with an occasional fiery video when a missile hits a car or something). Also another strike on a US base in Iraq.

I’m reading through Hamas’ 2017 document that outlines their general principles. There’s one item I’m not clear on:

However, without compromising its rejection of the Zionist entity and without relinquishing any Palestinian rights, Hamas considers the establishment of a fully sovereign and independent Palestinian state, with Jerusalem as its capital along the lines of the 4th of June 1967, with the return of the refugees and the displaced to their homes from which they were expelled, to be a formula of national consensus.

Does this mean that, maybe as a matter of practicality, that Hamas would accept a 2 state solution? And if so, when they are talking about the right of return, does that mean the right of return only to that part of Palestine? Or does that mean right of return to Israel proper? I assume it’s the later but if so I don’t see Israel agreeing to that any more likely than they would accept a one-state solution.

It took a month for WW1 to break out after the assassination of the Austrian Archduke. Keep that in mind the next time you see someone acting like Iran is just bluffing when it talks about entering the war.

You don't enter a war on a whim.

Fair point to all of us (including me) who keep shitting on them, although it’s different in that we are watching 2 million people being genocided live on our phones so there should be more urgency here…

At this point any government not trying to intervene is complicit in the crimes of israel. If the international rules based order means anything, 800 murdered in a hospital attack should erase any right for the state of israel to exist.

Chris Hedges: Israel’s Culture of Deceit: Israel, which always seeks to blame Palestinians for the atrocities it carries out, is the least trustworthy source about the bombing of the hospital in Gaza.

Im worried about this "humanitarian aid package" to be offered by the US. It's gonna be a poison pill. Biden said theyll bring aid as long as "Hamas doesn't interfere." Some scenariosntht have been rolling around in my head:

  1. False flag. Something happens to the convoy and Hamas is blamed. They use this to galvanize wavering western resolve against Hamas and persuade regular citizens into a war to "Save Palestine."

  2. The aid makes it ashore but carries a poison pill. That could look like: a. Intelligence agents used to spy. This seems like a certainty. They'll get agents onbthe ground and try to set up snitches and informants . b. The camp will become the only safe space in Palestine. Israel won't bomb a US humanitrian camp -- They're in on this, after all. This will make the people there into hostages, and reduce potential ground resistance forces. c. Material and force can be brought ashore to "protect" palestinians from Hamas "aggression." This would set marines up in a backline to attack rear flanks for the ground invasion.

Any outside attack on the "aid" convoy can be taken as a cassus belli for war.

I suspect all of these will be in play. They'll get spies and informants, set up control over a population, get boots on the ground, and any attempt to stop this will provoke agression under the guise of benevolence for protecting palestinians.

And I'm not sure whatnthe counterplay to this would be.

Thoughts?

  1. While the Palestinian Youth Movement offered chants that would be much stronger than other demonstrations on this issue, one was cut off before hearing the response: "They've got tanks, we've got hang gliders-" was cut off and turned to "Free, free Palestine!"

One of the funniest things I've seen recently. This is a protest group in Washington DC. "No that's too much not here" and quickly changing the chant. PSL were also present.

lenin-confused

Israel says the next stage of the war might not be what everyone is expecting, and that a ground offensive into Gaza was never explicitly mentioned

No fucking idea where this is being sourced from.

EDIT: Another version --

"We are preparing for the next stages of war. We haven't said what they will be. Everybody's talking about the ground offensive. It might be something different," - IDF Spox

If accurate this is the first clear sign of the IDF walking back on the idea of a ground offensive.

In yet another installment of "Western leftists sucks ass" the Danish Red-Greens, a demsoc nominally revolutionary party that makes up the furthest left segment of the Overton window there, has ceased cooperation with the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine over their participation in the Al-Aqsa Flood which the Red-Greens call "a terror action", parroting zionist propaganda. In the period 2013-2021 the Red-Greens worked with the DFLP and two other Palestinian organisations on a project funded by the Danish government's Institute for Parties and Democracy to "educate young Palestinians in humans rights and strengthen gender equality".

This is not the first time the Red-Greens are a bunch of radlib cowards when it comes to antiimperialism. Following the start of the Ukraine war they ditched their opposition to NATO cutting the lack of an alternative to the American military organisation. In 2011 they fell for western propaganda and voted to bomb Libya.
