Israel trying to pass the hospital bombing off as Palestine doing it is utterly disgusting and guarantees Netanyahu a spot in the deepest pit of Hell for all eternity, obviously, but do not forget that

a) the only reason why Westerners will believe it is because they want to believe it - they are not being brainwashed and this is not some masterful propaganda being weaved around us to turn kind-hearted people into monsters,

b) no Westerner opinions matter at all. In most Western countries there is no real anti-Israel option to vote for even if they did realize that Israel was a giant factory for crimes against humanity, and Westerners protesting against things in general almost never achieves anything (tens of millions protested for BLM in 2020 and not only did the situation not change, it got worse), and

c) the people whose opinions do matter (both the people in the region, and the leaders who aren't already Zionist compradors) already know that Israel is full of shit and that they just murdered nearly a thousand civilians in a single bomb attack.

It is despair-inducing to think that the genocidal Zionist entity is so brazenly, so smugly getting away with bullshitting this away into a cloud of confusion, as they release their metaphorical squid ink just like they did with the stupid babies story, but the propaganda and the media narrative that they are creating isn't what matters. It cannot address the fundamental contradictions ripping the country, the region, and the world apart any more than masterfully-applied makeup can fix a stab wound. It can merely obfuscate.

If you have evidence of Israeli crimes and atrocities that you wish to preserve, there is a thread here in which to do so.

Sources on the fighting in Palestine against Israel. In general, CW for footage of battles, explosions, dead people, and so on:

UNRWA daily-ish reports on Israel's destruction and siege of Gaza and the West Bank.

English-language Palestinian Marxist-Leninist twitter account. Alt here.
English-language twitter account that collates news (and has automated posting when the person running it goes to sleep).
Arab-language twitter account with videos and images of fighting.
English-language (with some Arab retweets) Twitter account based in Lebanon.
English-language Palestinian Twitter account which reports on news from the Resistance Axis.

English-language PalestineResist telegram channel.

Various sources that are covering the Ukraine conflict are also covering the one in Palestine, like Rybar.

The Country of the Week is still Palestine! Feel free to chime in with books, essays, longform articles, even stories and anecdotes or rants.

Here is the map of the Ukraine conflict, courtesy of Wikipedia.

The weekly update isn't coming because I'm sick and too focussed on the collapse of the Zionist entity.

Links and Stuff

The bulletins site is down.

Examples of Ukrainian Nazis and fascists

Examples of racism/euro-centrism during the Russia-Ukraine conflict

Add to the above list if you can.

Resources For Understanding The War

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.

Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.

On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent and very good journalist reporting in the warzone on the separatists' side.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Telegram Channels

Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

Pro-Russian

https://t.me/aleksandr_skif ~ DPR's former Defense Minister and Colonel in the DPR's forces. Russian language.

https://t.me/Slavyangrad ~ A few different pro-Russian people gather frequent content for this channel (~100 posts per day), some socialist, but all socially reactionary. If you can only tolerate using one Russian telegram channel, I would recommend this one.

https://t.me/s/levigodman ~ Does daily update posts.

https://t.me/patricklancasternewstoday ~ Patrick Lancaster's telegram channel.

https://t.me/gonzowarr ~ A big Russian commentator.

https://t.me/rybar ~ One of, if not the, biggest Russian telegram channels focussing on the war out there. Actually quite balanced, maybe even pessimistic about Russia. Produces interesting and useful maps.

https://t.me/epoddubny ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/boris_rozhin ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/mod_russia_en ~ Russian Ministry of Defense. Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a 'propaganda tax', if you don't believe them. Does not cover everything, for obvious reasons, and virtually never details Russian losses.

https://t.me/UkraineHumanRightsAbuses ~ Pro-Russian, documents abuses that Ukraine commits.

Pro-Ukraine

Almost every Western media outlet.

https://discord.gg/projectowl ~ Pro-Ukrainian OSINT Discord.

https://t.me/ice_inii ~ Alleged Ukrainian account with a rather cynical take on the entire thing.

Last week's discussion post.

"But when I exited the train and met President Zelenskyy, I did not feel alone.

"I was bringing with me the idea of America. The promise of America, to the people who were fighting for the same things we fought for 250 years ago.

"Freedom, independence, self-determination and as I walked through Kyiv with President Zelenskyy, with air raid sirens sounding in the distance, I felt something I have always believed.

"We are stronger than ever before. America is big to the world. Still. Still."

Biden going on NBC to call for supporting Israel and Ukraine? It’s heckin time to manufacture some consent!

[-] Redcuban1959@hexbear.net 39 points 1 year ago

Israel demands an apology from the UN , which for years allowed Hamas to create a “war machine” in Gaza - permanent representative

Israel's War Cabinet has made it clear to Biden that a ground operation in Gaza is inevitable.

Israel's War Cabinet will meet this evening to discuss the next step for Operation Iron Swords.

After Biden’s visit, the IDF is preparing for the ground phase of the operation, and apparently the limits of the use of force and the boundaries of advance were discussed with the US President today

Everything is ready for the start of the IDF ground operation in the Gaza Strip. The troops are waiting for orders.

For a second, let's assume that the zionists didn't bomb the hospital, that the initial gloating by top officials was just an unfounded kneejerk reaction, that Islamic Jihad somehow got their hands on a JDAM-type weapon and just happened to misfire it directly into a hospital. Well, then the zionists can't be blamed, can they?

Of course they can be blamed. They are occupying Palestine and bears full responsibility for all violence that follows from the occupation. Nobody would be dropping bombs in Palestine was it not for the occupation. Unlike the indigenous people of Palestine who will face apartheid or outright genocide if they stop resisting, the occupiers can end all violence by simply going back home. Yet they choose to stay and as such become responsible for all evils that follows.

Last night, October 17, 2023, on social medias it was reported that groups of individuals in Turkiye attempted to breach a remotely located NATO radar base that houses US troops in Turkey's Malatya province, the Kürecik Radar Station

The Kürecik Radar Station was established in 2012 for use by NATO as an early-warning radar against ballistic missile attacks

Accoding to Pro-Israel sectors of Turkish OSINT circles (https://twitter.com/i/status/1714525491846127691), the rally was "organized in collaboration between Iran-trained Turkey's Hizbullah (Kurdish Islamists) operatives" and "pro-Russian neo-nationalist elements", althought there is no proofs of such

As, expected, the Turkish army prevented the break-in.

Meanwhile, The Turkish police also blocked the demonstrations and riots against the Israeli missions in Istanbul and Ankara.

The US military's top commander in the Middle East, CENTCOM commander Gen. Michael 'Erik' Kurilla, arrived in Tel Aviv, Israel, for "high-level meetings with Israel's military leadership."

Kurilla to meet Israeli defense chief Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi "to gain a clear understanding of Israel's defense requirements, outline US support efforts to avoid expansion of the conflict and reiterate the Department of Defense's ironclad support for Israel,"

"I'm here to ensure that Israel has what it needs to defend itself, and am particularly focused on avoiding other parties expanding the conflict," Kurilla said, according to CENTCOM .

How the UN Security Council members voted on the Russian resolution:

In favor: Russia, China, the United Arab Emirates, Gabon, and Mozambique.

Against: The United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Japan.

Abstained: Albania, Brazil, Ghana, Malta, Switzerland, and Ecuador.

The U.S. representative explained their country's choice by pointing out that the resolution did not condemn Hamas.

archive.today • Israelis Gird for Invasion of Gaza Amid Mistrust of Government - The New York Times

[...]

There is little empathy among Israeli Jews right now for the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza, where more than 2,600 people have been killed, according to the Palestinian health officials.

Ms. Rabinyan is the author of the 2014 novel “All the Rivers,” a love story about an Israeli woman and a Palestinian artist based on her real-life romance, and a board member of several left-wing organizations opposing Israel’s occupation of the West Bank. But she said she had no room in her heart for the suffering of Palestinian civilians.

She was moving between hospitals and hotels housing survivors of the Hamas attacks, reading stories to children. “I know it’s not noble of me,” she said. “I know there is suffering on the other side, but the other side took hostages and slaughtered so violently, with so much passion, that my compassion is somehow paralyzed.”

One of the top comments really surprised me.

Well, the only solution is to bring justice for the Palestinians. Netanyahu was successful at making the conflict invisible up to know. Violence and oppression will create more violence. Either make the Palestinians citizens or allow them to have their own state. The slow motion death by a thousand cuts that Israel subjects the Palestinians to is the root of all bad that happens in Israel/Palestine.

I'm stealing this think tanker's unironic phrasing to use in my jokes. The "self-defeating" paragraph in particular is a thing of beauty. And it's cute that he thinks (or is pretending to think) that Israel will let Gazans back after their ethnic cleansing. The article is nonsense advice for a situation that will never exist.

archive.today • Opinion | I Saw What Happened to America's Postwar Plans for Iraq. Here's How Israel Should Plan for Gaza. - The New York Times

I headed postwar Iraq planning for the U.S. State Department in 2002 and 2003.

[...]

The self-defeating mind-set that took hold in the United States not long after Iraq’s occupation was that the decision to invade Iraq was an original sin — something so wrong that it could never have come out better than it did. That mentality is damaging because it cuts off any serious effort to understand what went wrong and why.

[...]

The label of forever wars that has been firmly attached to America’s wars in Iraq and Afghanistan fails to acknowledge that poor planning and scant resources will always fail to secure postwar peace. It astounds me that anyone could be surprised by this.

[...]

Consider these six points, however difficult some may seem before a ground war even starts:

  1. End Hamas’s culture of economic corruption in Gaza.

  2. Listen to what Gaza’s residents want. Ordinary Gazans must have a say in their future.

  3. Change the educational curriculum.

  4. Find a path for Gazans to write a constitution that will lead toward a more democratic state that can live in peace side by side with Israel.

  5. Show Gazans that Israel is prepared to help Gaza rebuild economically.

  6. Border security for Gaza that Israel can live with — not a siege — is vital.

These Christians love their persecution complex. I say, lean into it. Let’s bring back show crucifixions and arenas where imported lions chase Jerry Falwell’s kids.

Question to anyone who's more well versed in them than me: Why would Hamas congratulate Azerbaijan for their successful ethnic cleansing?

Note: This is not a "why wont you condemn hamas" post, i am legit interested in what is behind this. Simply cause they started to look for western protection? Because Turkey supported them?
