Well they do find people to match the idea. Trying to remember which op-ed backlash really exposed it, some GOP guy got invited to do one the editors had wanted...
with each passing day i am more convinced that the nyt is an elaborate bit meant to humiliate the people who read it thinking it makes them smarter or more informed

They haven't changed the headline three times, they're A/B/C testing the headline for the most rage clicks and different users are just reporting what they're seeing
