The multiple near-collisions with US military jets make me think they just want to generate a Gulf of Tonkin incident first.

Exactly why I clicked through to clarify quickly with alarm. I still think it's worth discussing and demonstrating the US's piracy, but I also think it's important to clarify what I did lest someone else think we're already at war.

Somehow, after over 2 decades of oil memes, I can't believe they're being this open about going to war for oil.
the last election proved that they're no longer answerable to the public since diet-genocide and full-fat-genocide were our only options.

In part this is hilarious (in a terrible way), as I recall how there was fearmongering how piracy will increase because the US will no longer provide the global security for the sea routes. But we're seeing them doing what they warned against.
