Congratulations on surviving the flaying!!!

[-] fossilesque@mander.xyz 53 points 2 months ago

Needs a little stitching back up, but nothing unexpected & thx. :)

[-] Cort@lemmy.world 58 points 2 months ago

Oh yeah? Well my dissertation on automated weapons systems was able to defend itself.

Congrats tho.

[-] definitely_AI@feddit.online 14 points 2 months ago

Autonomous gun turrets can be... very... persuasive.

[-] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 9 points 2 months ago

Now with 50 percent more bullet per bullet!

Haha, I think I had a few years of this, but this place was a good outlet.

Is it even legal to use this template on days other than Wednesday? But don't worry, I won't report you to the meme police. And congrats, of course.

[-] MadMadBunny@lemmy.ca 13 points 2 months ago

More highly frowned upon than outright illegal; a hard stare should suffice.

Defenses call for different rules.

[-] dohpaz42@lemmy.world 19 points 2 months ago

Now we can say “What’s up Doc?” and mean it. 🐰🥕

[-] artifex@piefed.social 14 points 2 months ago

It was hard work, I’m sure, but now you’ve got it made! I mean, now it’s easy street for you, right? Nothing but champagne dreams and caviar wishes, right?

[-] Jankatarch@lemmy.world 11 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Why tweezers have been nailed down tho?
Please tell me no AI.

[-] Aedis@lemmy.world 9 points 2 months ago

Seriously? That bothers you more than the frog having human-like organs?

However I'm pretty sure those aren't tweezers and they aren't pinned down.

[-] ChaoticNeutralCzech@feddit.org 2 points 2 months ago

To prevent them from floating away of course (look at their shadow)

[-] tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 10 points 2 months ago

What an honor!

Congrats!

[-] sirprize@discuss.tchncs.de 10 points 2 months ago

More like dissection.

Congrats!

[-] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 4 points 2 months ago

or vivesection if the frog is alive.

[-] Slashme@lemmy.world 10 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

That's not what a frog looks like inside at all.

Oh, wait, this is that thing about explaining a joke and dissecting a frog, right?

Anyway, congratulations, Dr!

[-] Mavvik@lemmy.ca 9 points 2 months ago

Im impressed you got to the end with how much shitposting you do! Congrats Dr. Fossilesque!

[-] weariedfae@sh.itjust.works 7 points 2 months ago

Congratulations! I wish I could hear about your thesis without identifying you. I'm sure it is great and fascinating!

[-] fossilesque@mander.xyz 3 points 2 months ago

DM me if you wanna know lmao. Basically, I'm a jack of all trades environmental archaeologist.

[-] BodyBySisyphus@hexbear.net 6 points 2 months ago

[-] TisI@lemmy.zip 6 points 2 months ago

Congrats, buddy!

[-] MrEff@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

Congratulations. I hope your edits are few and potential publications are plentiful. What was the topic?

[-] definitely_AI@feddit.online 7 points 2 months ago

"The definitive case for eugenics"

[-] MrEff@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

"An improved analysis method of Phrenology"

[-] YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today 5 points 2 months ago

"the long term benefits of trepanation, a meta analysis."

[-] Machinist@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

Trepanning is back, baby! NSFL warning. Dude has his friends help him dremel a hole in his skull so he can like totally open his third eye or release the demon chakras or whatever.

Can't find it, but there was an interview where someone talked about poking their meninges with a metal rod and having a 'spiritual experience' or something. Also, bong rips feeling bubbly in the skull hole.

[-] definitely_AI@feddit.online 3 points 2 months ago

"When I stick this metal prong into my brain at an angle my feet start tickling!"

[-] SubArcticTundra@lemmy.ml 4 points 2 months ago

Thought you were OP for a brief moment there

[-] fossilesque@mander.xyz 3 points 2 months ago
[-] MrEff@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Amazing meme choice. Sounds like a fun read.

[-] BlameTheAntifa@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

Congratulations! Eat shit, Dr. Kilimo.

[-] definitely_AI@feddit.online 5 points 2 months ago

First tell us what thesis you successfully defended, and then we will let you know whether you are on the right or wrong side of history.

[-] fossilesque@mander.xyz 3 points 2 months ago

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_C._Scott I am influenced by him a lot with more raw original & big data.

[-] definitely_AI@feddit.online 2 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

You're James C Scott, but better?

Fuck it, you have my vote too.

Edit: I'm an anti-agrarian non-statist myself just FYI

[-] fossilesque@mander.xyz 3 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Lmao I wish, I just find his frameworks useful. My stuff is more dry and STEM. I reconstruct past environments by reading dirt and look at the consequences of early state formation.

Doctorate then? My mother was doing a doctorate but stopped right before the dissertation.

[-] pseudo@jlai.lu 4 points 2 months ago

Why are my ! censored? I put at least 8, I can only see 3.

[-] myavatar@feddit.org 6 points 2 months ago

Don't worry, I see more than three ! In your post. :)

[-] Chakravanti@monero.town 2 points 2 months ago

Epic, Bufo.
