In the dark of the night, Israel has struck Iranian facilities linked to South Pars, the largest natural gas field in the world, moving ahead towards a serious escalation.

Many Arabian countries like Oman have condemned the attack, calling it as a "Serious Escalation". Even the US President Donald Trump is against further strikes on Energy infrastructures in Iran (Yeah, how will USA loot them after regime change if that happens). But, we all know Israel, they rarely oblige to US desires.

Iran has already started to retaliate, launching strikes on significant energy facilities across the Persian Gulf.

it's a bit like the dead hand option that the soviet union built as insurance in case united states was ever crazy enough to attack. it would launch nukes at their enemies, whereas the samson option is pointed at both enemies and allies alike as their own insurance policy to take the whole world down w them.

Pretty sure the US was entirely aware of and in support of that strike and any statement contrary is just cowardly bullshit. Trump’s own statement denying US involvement is so transparently begging them to not bomb Qatar again that I can’t see any way to interpret it as anything but a narcissist meeting consequences and immediately shifting blame and trying to deescalate.

Exactly, the US went for massive escalation with an attack on the world's largest gas field, and now wants to end such attacks. It's a really transparent tactic to try and control escalation. If Iran permits the US to decide when to escalate, their deterrence collapses and they will also lose the war. The energy infrastructure of the Gulf States will now burn and US escalation control remains a delusion.

Public pushback against his master is very significant. Israel's response was "we're unlikely to do it again" is master taking the pushback under advisement. You should see hope for a wedge that can end the war, instead of speculation that there is no resistance to master.

US and Iran can agree on opening SoH, and GCC immunity. Instead of writing a strongly worded cheque to Israel, the US can control Israel, by either cutting them off weapons, or making them pay cash up front instead of gifts. US has full agency over Israel, even if their love has only led to anal, historically.

SoH is not closed. GCC production/export capacity is not completely zero yet. Iran controls it though. If US doesn't agree to peace, then any food/water imports to GCC and oil exports getting a 10% Iran tax/toll is a better deal for everyone than not letting shipping go through. Gulf oil has hit $165/bbl today. A month ago, GCC was happy getting $65/bbl. They are happy at any number "net" in between, as are their Asian customers. Paying in Yuan is not a "showstopper" problem for any of them.

Israel has always controlled the US by playing both parties. Since Oct 7th, all money is for GOP, and any left over is for DNC to lose on purpose, while still fully praising genocide-lite. This blatant Israel-only-desperate war short circuting Mossad agent US negotiations with Iran, with top national security official resigning over Israel first war, and Marco Rubio admitting Israel forced the US to obey orders, puts the US in a vulnerable position of being caught pants down with Netanyahu's cock in their throat.

It's only mostly methane. There are other gases, like ethane. Ethane clogs up power plants & furnaces, so it has to be separated out from the methane. It gets used to make PETE (#1), HDPE (#2), & LDPE (#4) plastics. Natural gas extraction produces so much waste ethane that it's currently economically unviable to recycle those plastics, since it's cheaper to make new. Even if sent to a recycling facility they almost entirely get landfilled or incinerated. :(
