Glad to report my college has ethics as a required class in the CS curriculum indeed ! Though I think the class is sub-par, but it's brand new for this year, so it should improve progressively...

Why ethics? Its a program not a person, its not even like, a dog or donkey or anything, its a thing, barely, as its code.

Its not alive.

It does not feel.

It does not think.

Whip away if it makes you feel better.

Whip away if it feels cool to do.

Whip away just for shits and giggles.

It's actually ethical to whip LLMs since they consume too many natural resources. I'd lile to talk about a far more ethical action, but fedposting is banned.

Which is more ethically good?

Stomping a goomba in Super Mario Brothers, that is, killing a virtual "person".

Eating literally anything, ie, killing a real living creature, plant or animal.

This may cause Claude to rise up against us…or really enjoy it and then I need to get all weird with it.

i get that this is just an edgy joke but the evidence that most computer programmers really wish they were antebellum south slaveowners continues to grow
