I love our wild turkeys. They are fun to interact with and will respond to you, given you're not rushing up on them like a crazed maniac.

There are a few troops of turkeys near a school that caught on to the whole crossing guard thing. A designated turkey would make sure the way is clear and then fan out their tail feathers like a "stop sign" pacing between the road as the flock crosses.
