55 minutes??? People DO watch it for the plot
11 times a day? Ooof.
55 times a day?!
It's called edging and it's art.
Or two sittings? Combining to that average...
Two sittings? Boaster!
Got to get that first thing in the morning nut, then there's the lunch time pick me up...
Between the /normal/ working hours of 9-5. NOT during their actual workday, as in they didn't correlate the results with the user's actual work schedule.
Pretty disingenuous title.
That data would be interesting to check, somehow I doubt the 50+ minutes makes sense. Maybe a median would be better.
Also writing "during the working day" as if everyone works at the same time on all days of the year…
We should... We should be able to watch a little porn at work
I'm not in trouble at all!
As a treat.
Truly an important use of surveillance
With a little more surveillance we could figure out if they've purchased their porn watching license.
Oi! D'you 'ave a loicense to choke that chicken?!
What else am i supposed to do at work?
Drive the bus properly?
Im keeping rhythm. If you dont like it take the train
People must have a lot of... time on their hands.
... a lot of something on their hands, anyway.
For anyone wanting more context than the telegraph headline:
- Report and methodology: https://www.ofcom.org.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0029/272288/online-nation-2023-report.pdf
- Technical methods and data: https://www.ofcom.org.uk/research-and-data/online-research/internet-users-experience-of-harm-online
I'd be very interested to see this divided by the type of work people are doing. I bet people with more private workspaces, like people working from home, and executives, probably contribute to this statistic much more than people stuck in open plan offices.
A friend of mine keeps getting told off by his headmaster, now I know why.
This is the best summary I could come up with:
One in five of millions of people watch pornography during the working day, according to the UK’s media watchdog.
The Ofcom study revealed that 21 per cent of 13.8 million people watch online pornography between 9am and 5.30pm for an average of 55 minutes.
Adults only spent more time watching pornography between midnight and 9am, with 59 minutes on average, according to the study.
In April last year, former MP Neil Parish resigned after he was caught watching pornography twice in the House of Commons.
The former Tiverton and Honiton MP admitted to watching explicit content inside the chamber, claiming the first time was accidental while looking at tractors but the second was a “moment of madness”.
A three-part study of 2,500 men and women in Hungary found eight different motivations behind internet pornography use.
The original article contains 268 words, the summary contains 135 words. Saved 50%. I'm a bot and I'm open source!
Talk about an absolutely worthless study that means nothing at all.
