If Hillary runs as an independent candidate, I might actually pay attention to election season.

I’ll tell my lib friends that it’s her turn.

The amount of copium on reddit insisting he's actually winning, the entire concept of polling is wrong (until one shows him ahead) and everybody agrees that the Republicans message that the economy is bad is ridiculous and everybody realizes its just a ridiculous republican talking point.

I can't believe they're actually pretending to not see that rake they're enthusiastically high stepping towards.

[-] GaveUp@hexbear.net 31 points 2 years ago

It's all bots or people with enough money that the economy is good for them because their 401k has been ripping up

"Nothing will fundamentally change"

[-] D61@hexbear.net 40 points 2 years ago

I mean, everybody promised that Biden was only going to be a one term president so he's just working on making that campaign promise a reality.

[-] DragonBallZinn@hexbear.net 19 points 2 years ago

Only two campaign promises he will ever fulfill:

  • "Nothing will fundamentally change"
  • "I will be a one-term president"
[-] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 37 points 2 years ago

The solution to this is exactly the same as all the other Biden and dem problems. It's our least favorite four letter word.

[-] Infamousblt@hexbear.net 38 points 2 years ago

I'm not entirely sure how pissing on Biden will help but I don't know enough about electoralism to know for sure so I'll trust you on this

If you don't vote for Biden next year the big mean man will come back and be rude on twitter. Do you want that?

It's just amazing how much Israel means to the US political class, that they are willing to self destruct to keep supporting Israel. They don't even bother to use weaselly political talk to sound humanitarian, they are just giving Israel a blank check to do mass slaughter. Dems or Repubs, the Israel lobby wins.

Vast military importance AND cultural (all American Christians have a very confusing relationship with Israel due to Revelations)

Like there's no way for them to see through it, it's the foundation of their whole belief system ideologically and religiously.

Just when you think they can't outdo themselves, they deliver. And it's the only thing they're ever capable of consistently delivering. 📉

Maybe he'll reach 2008-era Bush numbers by March, who knows.

[-] SacredExcrement@hexbear.net 19 points 2 years ago

On one hand, it'd be really funny to watch Biden lose by Carter - Reagan margins

On the other, I hate conservatives too so

[-] Hohsia@hexbear.net 14 points 2 years ago

I think all trump has to do is make normies uncomfortable for everyone to flock to Biden

I know some people irl who turned against trump for nothing other than January 6th

[-] SacredExcrement@hexbear.net 22 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Probably, he's mostly just been letting Biden flail and hasn't been in public much to make his own gaffes

people irl who turned against trump for nothing other than January 6th

Funnily enough, that makes me think of Biden himself. Joined the Republican party initially, then left it when Watergate broke because Nixon was 'too unsavory'

Seems perfectly befitting of reactionaries, leaving a party not because of their politics and policies themselves but because the party figurehead is too mean

[-] Hohsia@hexbear.net 17 points 2 years ago

data-laughing

Like all of those Lincoln project dweebs who left the GOP not because its fascist but because it lacks decorum and civility

[-] halfpipe@hexbear.net 26 points 2 years ago

That's pretty bad , damn, it took Trump the covid winter + January 6th to finally fall below 40%.

Probably doesn't help that Biden now looks like he belongs in a sarcophagus.

[-] Adkml@hexbear.net 26 points 2 years ago

It's the base.

Trump knows 40% of the country loves it when he says immigrants are poisoning the blood of the country and we need to deport everybody who isn't a white Christian republican.

He takes shit from the media but sticks to his fascist rhetoric and 40% of the country will literally drive across the country to smear their shit on the walls of Pelosis office.

Meanwhile Bidens base is people who don't like fascism but also don't feel strongly about the climate, workers rights, or genocides.

And then whenever he faces any pushback he tells his base to fuck off and agress the Republicans have sone legit concerns.

[-] davel@hexbear.net 25 points 2 years ago

It’s the economy, stupid billdawg

[-] SacredExcrement@hexbear.net 25 points 2 years ago

I feel like this headline could apply to every American president in my lifetime

What is this cyclical hell

[-] P1d40n3@hexbear.net 24 points 2 years ago

That's our gaffe-prone Genocide Joe! Isn't he just adorable?? Never know what's gonna pop outta his mouth!

[-] Elon_Musk@hexbear.net 12 points 2 years ago

Congress are the ones that approve aid to Israel so why are you guys mad at Biden? I need you to vote for him in 2024 to keep Chest Cheeto out of office, this is the most important election of our lives!

Newcomm and Newsmega Rules:

The Hexbear Code of Conduct and Terms of Service apply here.

  1. Link titles: Please use informative link titles. Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed.

  2. Content warnings: Posts on the newscomm and top-level replies on the newsmega should use content warnings appropriately. Please be thoughtful about wording and triggers when describing awful things in post titles.

  3. Fake news: No fake news posts ever, including April 1st. Deliberate fake news posting is a bannable offense. If you mistakenly post fake news the mod team may ask you to delete/modify the post or we may delete it ourselves.

  4. Link sources: All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. If you are citing a Twitter post as news, please include the Xcancel.com (or another Nitter instance) or at least strip out identifier information from the twitter link. There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance, such as Libredirect or archive them as you would any other reactionary source.

  5. Archive sites: We highly encourage use of non-paywalled archive sites (i.e. archive.is, web.archive.org, ghostarchive.org) so that links are widely accessible to the community and so that reactionary sources don’t derive data/ad revenue from Hexbear users. If you see a link without an archive link, please archive it yourself and add it to the thread, ask the OP to fix it, or report to mods. Including text of articles in threads is welcome.

  6. Low effort material: Avoid memes/jokes/shitposts in newscomm posts and top-level replies to the newsmega. This kind of content is OK in post replies and in newsmega sub-threads. We encourage the community to balance their contribution of low effort material with effort posts, links to real news/analysis, and meaningful engagement with material posted in the community.

  7. American politics: Discussion and effort posts on the (potential) material impacts of American electoral politics is welcome, but the never-ending circus of American Politics© Brought to You by Mountain Dew™ is not welcome. This refers to polling, pundit reactions, electoral horse races, rumors of who might run, etc.

  8. Electoralism: Please try to avoid struggle sessions about the value of voting/taking part in the electoral system in the West. c/electoralism is right over there.

  9. AI Slop: Don't post AI generated content. Posts about AI race/chip wars/data centers are fine.
